I look over at the the clock and it's about 8:45.
"Do you want to go see what the boys are doing?" Paige asks taking out a carton of ice cream. I nod.
I walk upstairs and see Josh's door open a crack.
I almost open it when Josh's phone starts ringing.
"Dude put it on speaker." Mikey says.
I look a little closer and see Josh hit the speaker button.
"Hello?"
"Hi Is this Joshua Hyland?"
"Yes!"
"Hi. I am the administrator of The University Of Toronto Student faculty. I am calling to talk to you about your confirmation call."
He hesitates, "Ok. What about?"
"Congrats! Your resume has been accepted. Your courses start on August 5 ."
"Wow that's amazing!"
I feel a tear fall down my cheek. Josh sighs, "You know what. I have been thinking over the past few weeks and thank you so much for the offer but I am going to decline that offer. It has been an honor getting accepting but I don't think it's right for me." I see all the boys smile.
"Thank you for your consideration Mr.Hyland."
Then the line goes out.
"What did you do that for Josh? You got accepted!" Brandon questions.
"Chloe is more important to me. I'd rather lose something that isn't worth begging for."
More tears fall down my cheek. I wipe them away then open the door.
The boys quickly look up.
"Boys, Paige is making ice cream downstairs. If you guys want some go now before she eats it all." I say.
Josh looks at me and smiles.
Before he walks out the door I put my hand to his chest and close the door. He looks confused. Before he can say anything I wrap my arms around his neck embracing him in a hug.
I whisper in his ear, "You are my everything."
He lets go of me and places his lips on mine just for a second. One of the boys bangs on the door.
I laugh then grab his hand and walk out.
"I love you." " I love you too."
We get downstairs and the table is covered in bowls of ice cream, sprinkles, sauce, everything you can imagine.
"Oh my goodness. I'm gonna be up for hours." I say putting my head into Josh's chest.
After 28 minutes everyone has their ice cream sundae.
Josh has everything you can imagine and I just have vanilla and sprinkles. Plain Jane.
"Why don't you go into the wild side?" Josh asks.
I look over at him and he hands me his spoon covered with ice cream. I take a bite then he just laughs.////end of chapter 20
