I finish saying my goodbyes to the principal and my counselors.
I walk down the stage and see everyone with their friends and family. I smile.
I feel a cold pair of arms wrap around me.
I look up at see Josh.
"Hey." He says.
"Hi." I smile.
I turn around and face him. His arms are on my waist and my arms are around his neck.
"You look gorgeous," He says.
"You look cute." I say.
He laughs. I just smile and look at him.
"We did it!" I say.
"Doesn't everyone say we get freedom after we graduate?" He asks.
I laugh. "You could call it that!"
"I love you." I say brushing his hair back with my hand.
"I love you too." He says.
He is about to kiss me when we hear,
"CHLOE!"
Josh looks up and I turn around.
I see Paige running to us with Mikey.
She runs to me and gives me a big hug.
"You did amazing!" She says.
I smile. She releases me from the hug.
"Chloe!" Mikey says giving me a hug. My hands are at my sides and he just picks me up.
"Dude! Let her breath." Josh says patting Mikey's back.
Mikey puts me down. Everyone else comes. We are all standing in the middle of the football field.
"What do we do now?" Maddie asks.
I lift my hands in the Air and yell "PARTY!"
Everyone laughs.
I look in the distance and see my dad. He hasn't called me since the Spring. He doesn't care about my life about more. He still thinks I'm not "old enough" to be out by myself.
Josh sees the horrible look on my face.
"Do you want to go?" He whispers in my ear.
I shake my head.
Josh and I walk over to my dad across the field. He is talking to my mom.
"Hi Chloe." He says.
I fake a smile.
"Congratulations."
I keep smiling. Josh puts his hand on my back.
"Your mom told me about Yale. I don't get why you dropped out of an amazing program, you have so much potential and I don't think it was a wise-"
I interrupt him, "You know what dad! I dropped out because I love Josh. He is the best thing that has ever happened to me and if you don't get it than you better stop talking about it right now." I say grabbing Josh's hand.
"I mean Chlo-" I interrupt him again
"Don't you Chlo me. There is nothing else to say. C'mon Josh. Let's go." I say.
We start walking past them out of the stadium.
"You ok?" Josh asks.
"Perfect." I say.
We get to the parking lot and I jump on Josh's back. He runs to the car.
I jump down and hop in the car.
"Ready?" He asks.
"Ready." I say.
----10 minutes later----
"Man this gown is hot!" I say unzipping my gown.
Josh has already taken his off.
I have a white summer dress under.
"That's a pretty dress." Josh says.
I smile at him.
"When's the party again?" I ask.
"Um about 8:30 but Mikey wants us to come early. I'm thinking about 4:30. Mikey wants to have a barbecue before." He says.
We are having a big graduation party at Mikey's.
"Promise me something." I say turning my body towards Josh.
"And what is that?" He asks.
"You won't leave me for the whole party?" I ask.
He looks over at me.
"Of course i won't."
"Pinky promise?" I ask sticking out my pinky.
Without hesitation he interlocks his pinkie with mine, "pinky promise."////end of chapter 26
