Chapter 42

"Chloe!" My mom says coming to give me a hug.
"Mom!" I state.
I see my dad in the doorway. I give him a glare. We haven't talked that much.
I slide my hand down to the blanket and bring it up towards my stomach making sure they can't see the bump.
"What are you guys doing here?" I ask.
My mom sits down.
"Josh called us."
I shoot a glare towards Josh.
"Oh. Well I'm glad you're here." I lied.
"Um so while you're here we have a few somewhat surprises." I say.
My mom smiles.
I lift up my hand and show her the ring.
She grins from ear to ear.
"We are getting married." I say.
"That's amazing! Congratulations." She replies.
My dad fakes a smile. He keeps staring at Josh. He knows something is wrong.
"And the other thing." I state.
My mom looks into my eyes.
I take a deep breath and slide the blanket down my body.
My mom looks, "I'm pregnant." I say.
She starts to cry.
My dad starts to walks towards Josh but I yell, "Stop! You touch him I will make sure you never get to see this baby!"
My dad steps away then bolts out the door. I look over at my mom and a few tears fall from her eyes along from mine.
"How long have you've known?" She asks.
I hold up my hand, "5 months."
She starts crying even more.
"I'm so sorry I never meant for this-"
She interrupts me, "Yes you could've controlled this! We talked about this when you were little, you were going to wait!"
"Yeah but mom I'm not a little kid anymore! I am almost out of college and I want to be able to make my own decisions! Not you, dad, or Josh! Me!"
"I'm done!" She says stomping out of the room.
I lift the blanket over my head and Josh sits next to me on the bed.
"She'll get over it!" Josh says.
"No when she says she is Done! She is done!" I reply.
"Oh yeah there is something I've been meaning to tell you."
I stick my head out from the blanket.
"What?"
"I told my parents!" Josh says.
"You what?"
"My mom is ok with it. She is actually excited to have a grand baby." He reassures me.
"Well at least someone's happy!"

I open my eyes and look at the clock it's 2:30.
"Why did you do this?" Someone whispers.
I slowly turn my head and see Josh and my dad in the corner "talking!"
"She is the love of my life!"
"Well maybe you should've thought of that before you got her pregnant!" My dad whisper yells.
"You're lucky I even called you! She didn't want to tell you!"
"That doesn't even matter! You are supposed to be responsible and what do you do-"
Josh interrupts him,
"Chloe doesn't care about that! She is in love with this baby!"
"I don't care if she is in love with this baby she should've never hooked up with you in the first place."
I see Josh's face turn to a look I never want to see.
"Get out!" He says.
"Get out!" He repeats.
"And don't call chloe! She never wants to see you again."
He isn't wrong. My dad has messed up too many times.
Josh turns around and sees that I'm awake.
"You heard that?" He asks. I nod.
"I'm sorry. I never meant for this to happen-"
I interrupt him,
"Don't worry about it. He meant to hear it. He said the wrong thing and got punished. Where's my mom?" I ask.
Josh sighs, "Um she left."
A tear falls from my eye.
"She is heading back to Pittsburgh."
I close my eyes and lay down, turning away from Josh.
