Chapter 28

"Burgers are ready!" Josh yells.
I stand up from the couch and walk outside. I smell the aroma of spices and seasoning.
"Chloe, here is your special burger." Josh says pointing to a plate on the picnic table. I nod and smile.
Paige hands me a plate and I get chips, my burger and fruit.
I walk down the patio steps to the grass.
I sit down on the grass and Paige sits next to me.
"So, I was thinking this summer we can take a road trip to the beach." She says.
"That sounds awesome!" I say.
Everyone starts walking down. Josh sits on the other side of me.
"This is good." I say looking over at Josh.
He kisses my cheek.
----The Party----
I hear the doorbell ring and I run over.
"Hey!" I say to a random person I don't know. They ask the usual question, "Is this Mikey's house?"
I sometimes will say no to someone I don't like. But then I would say I'm joking with them.
I feel a cold hand grab my arm. I look over my shoulder and see Paige dragging me somewhere.
"You're coming to dance with me!" She says.
Mikey's back room is HUGE! Like huge huge!!!!!
They are playing "Shake it off!"
I start dancing with Paige!! The party started about an hour ago and it is packed!
"Have you seen Josh?" Paige yells over the music.
"Yeah! He is with the guys outside. They are playing a game." I yell. Paige nods.
After a few more songs we make our way outside.
"Josh doesn't like big parties. No wonder he is outside." Paige says.
"Really? I thought he would be the life of the party!" I ask opening the gate leading to the staircase.
"No! He likes a 'Get together'" Paige says using air quotes.
I laugh.
We make our way down the steps. The boys are sitting down on lawn chairs. A dr either people are sitting with them.
I see a girl "flirting" with Josh. Josh looks uncomfortable.
I walk over and sit on his lap. He wraps his arms around my waist.
"Hey babe. I was looking for you." I say kissing his cheek.
I turn my head towards the flirting brunette. Her expression changes.
"Oh hey! Ashley is looking for you! She says This really hot guy wants to ask you out. And don't worry it's not this one." I say pointing my finger at Josh.
"Oh really. Where is she?" She asks clueless of what I just said.
"Um, she is in the kitchen." I say pointing to the deck with my "happy" finger. (Pg-13. I had to add a little bit of sass)
"Ok. Thanks." She says clearly annoyed with my actions.
I keep pointing and Josh smiles while pulling my finger down.
The brunette gets up and walks away.
"I thought she would never leave." I say.
"Thanks." Josh says.
"No problem."
"We need to talk." Josh whispers in my ear while Brandon starts telling a story.
