„You and me, I promise"--JJ Maybank (IMAGINES)

In coma Pt.2

A car almost hit you. It didn't really hit you. You just saw the light and fell over. The car kept going, after all, nothing really happened.

But you are lying there. In a faint. Completely unaware and alone. But by now it's morning again. Very early in the morning. The sun is just coming out but it is still dark.

In the meantime, Jj has been worried about you while being angry at the same time. He wanted to go and get something from home. He was up all night. He couldn't sleep because of your fight.
He goes home and sees you on the way. He doesn't see you directly, he just sees a person lying on the ground on the side of the road.
He comes closer and sees that it is you. Immediately his heart beats a thousand times faster.

"Y/N! Y/N what's going on? Are you okay?" He says worriedly as he sits down next to you.

No answer. Silence.

"SHIT. Can you hear me? Y/N?!" He now says louder and full of worry.

But you don't answer. His mind is in chaos right now. You don't answer, or you don't move. He is in shock. His eyes begin to fill with tears.

"Y/N! Say something. Say something, please. Please don't leave me. You can't leave me" Jj yells crying.

He realises it's no use and calls an ambulance immediately. Then he calls the others.

"Johnb...."

"Yes bro what's up" replies JohnB

"Get over here right away. YOU ALL. Y/N is lying here on the road and not moving she is fainting.... please come" says Jj and hangs up.

Only a few minutes later the others have found you sitting on the side of the road.
Your head is on Jj's lap. He holds your head and gives you mouth to mouth resuscitation. But it is no use. And the others notice that. They try to stop him. He is crying desperately and his whole body is shaking. He can't do it. Lose you.

Just then, the ambulance arrives. The doctors lift you up and lay you down. They carry you into the ambulance and Jj runs after them. He goes in with them. The man asks the others to come on their own and you drive off. The whole way, Jj imagines the worst scenarios in his head. He holds your hand the whole time and doesn't let go. He also calls your mother and asks her to come to the hospital.

When you arrive at the hospital, the doctors push you on the stretcher into the hospital as fast as they can. They take you to a room to find out the causes or possible wounds as soon as possible.

Jj doesn't notice anything more. It all happens so fast but he just runs after you. But the doctors hold him back. No access for others. He tries to come to you but the doctors hold him back.

"Sit down. It's going to be okay but your girlfriend is not helped right now by you running after her into the examination room." Says a doctor to Jj.

So Jj sits down. He doesn't know what's going on at all. Are you only slightly injured? Are you seriously injured? Or are you dead? He doesn't know any of that. Not a thing. It drives him crazy.
But then he sees your mother. He hugs her and cries into her shoulder.

"I don't know what happened...I...I....I found her like this by the side of the road...and...and" Jj says but he can't get a sentence out.

"Calm down. Everything will be fine" says your mother. She tries to calm Jj down, even though she herself is terrified and tears come to her eyes.

The doctor comes out and Jj gets up immediately.

"Y/N Y/L/N" says the doctor and looks around. Jj quickly goes to him.

"Yes, she is my girlfriend" he says, sobbing.
"I am Jj... Jj Maybank"

"So Mr Maybank... your girlfriend is not hurt. At least not physically. She's in a coma. But we don't know for how long. She will wake up... I am sure of it" the doctor says to Jj.

I am sure of it. That sentence, that's what every doctor says, isn't it? Jj thinks to himself.

"And what was it?" Jj asks anxiously.

"Overdose. It was a severe overdose of drugs of any kind. She must have collapsed. I won't lie Mr Maybank, it looks very bad. She's not likely to wake up for a while. But I don't know that for sure. She'll wake up, I'm sure. Miracles still exist..." says the doctor.

Jj becomes aggressive. What the doctor has just said makes him so aggressive, even though the doctor can't help it.

"She will surely wake up? What the fuck is that statement? You're just trying to keep from me the fact that she will probably never wake up again, aren't you? WILL SHE WAKE UP?" Jj shouts with tears streaming down his face.

"Jj" says Pobe, coming up to him. But Jj does not respond.

"Mr. Maybank... I am just doing my job. It is perfectly normal for you to react like this in this situation but..."

"WILL SHE WAKE UP?!" Shouts Jj again. Crying.

"I... I don't know. There is only a very small chance that she will wake up again. It is very unlikely. But we will do our best. I'm very sorry" says the doctor.

These words make Jj see everything in a blur. "A very small chance"... "it's very unlikely"... it repeats thousands of times in his head. Tears do not stop running down his face. And your mother also cries out loud at the doctor's words. Jj breaks down. He collapses on the floor.
The Pogues run to him and help him up. "Jj" is all he hears a hundred times. But he doesn't respond to anything.

"I want to go to her now" says Jj.

"Okay no problem but one at a time please" says the doctor and lets Jj into your room.

When he goes in, he just sees you there. You are lying in the hospital bed in that stupid hospital nightgown. With this thing for breathing. All he hears is this device that beeps all the time and records your heartbeat. You're alive. That's the first thing he thinks. But the next thing he thinks is: probably not for long.

It destroys him to see you like this. He sits down next to you and holds your hand. He blames himself. All the time. All the time he blames himself that you are in a coma, because he let you run away alone in the dark. And for yelling at you like that. He can't take it anymore. The pain in his heart is killing him.
