It had been a while, and it was safe to say things were looking up for you. Between Hanji doing experiments, training, and chores, you didn't really have much time to yourself.

Yet you didn't mind it, during the nights you would often wonder to the door of a very familiar office and slip in.

Tonight was one of those nights, padding your way to the door, you quietly opened it and closed it after yourself, turning around with a grin on your face.

"It's been nearly a year, yet you still don't know how to knock." Levi sighed.

Your grin widened and you wondered over, throwing yourself in the chair in front of his desk.

"Of course not." You snickered.

"Tsk." Levi places his quill down, "you should be asleep."

You rolled your eyes, lifting your feet up, resting them on his desk.

"You say this every time."

Levi leant forward and slapped your feet, pushing them off the desk with a small frown.

"Because it's true brat."

You stuck your tongue out at him and slouched in your chair.

"You really do have a way with words you know."

Levi rolled his eyes this time, picking up his quill once more, going back to whatever it is he did so late at night.

"You see me enough during the day."

"Ah yes, while doing my chores and training. It's how I love to spend my time with you, seriously."

Levi sighed and shook his head lightly, a small smile twitching at his lips.

Truth be told, he didn't really mind you coming to see him. Though, he would never admit it.

"You're hopeless." He grumbled.

"Don't we know it!"

Levi never replied, and you stayed silent, plucking the book from his desk that he left there for you a few days back.

The room was filled with silence, besides the occasional flick of a page and the sound of the quill, it was peaceful.

Otis spent most of his time staying silent, unless he was giving you tips, telling you that he was resting.

It was a huge change from how this all started, and you could remember it clearly.

As you thought back on the past events, you smiled softly. Everything really was different, and you wouldn't change that for the world.

"What're you smiling at?" Levi asked.

Flicking your gaze to him, you found him watching you intently and smiled softly over at him.

"Just thinking about this all started, a lot has changed since then."

"Your stubbornness hasn't..." he muttered.

You gasped and placed a hand on your chest in mock hurt, a grin on your lips.

"Words hurt Levi." You poured.

"And how much of a brat you are."

You poured even more, and a laughed resounded from deep within you.

"He's right, a lot has changed at you haven't."

"Otis you're meant to be in my side!" You whined.

Levi chuckled quietly and leant back, crossing his arms.

"Even he agrees with me."

"You guys are mean ganging up on me..."

Levi rolled his eyes and stood, nesting all of his papers, he walked around the desk and came closer to you.

Curious, you tilted your head back and Levi raised his hand. His fingers flicked your forehead and you yelped, rubbing the now sore spot with a small sheepish grin.

"You're mean..."

"Come on." He said.

You stood and followed as he walked towards the doors, humming lightly under your breath as you padded alongside him.

Your room had been changed again, this time it was further down the hall, yet still close enough between Levi and Erwin if you needed anything.

Levi led you into your room and you sat on the bed, swinging your legs with a smile as he tidied your floor.

Once he was done, he walked over and placed his hand on top of your head, leaning down a little so he was eye to eye with you.

"Goodnight (Y/N)."

You leant forward and kisses his nose with a little laugh.

"Goodnight captain meanie."

Levi just rolled his eyes and headed back to the door, closing it quietly behind him as he left.

Swinging your legs on to your bed, you closed your eyes and sat in thought.

Technically you two weren't official, neither of you had formally asked the other out. In a way, it was confusing, but you were still happy with that arrangement.

You honestly wouldn't change this for the world, it felt like this was where you were meant to be
