Erwin finally ushered you out of his office after nearly an hour, telling you to go spend time with your friends.

But before that, you had one more knock.

Walking down the hallway, you pushed the door to Levi's office open, peaking around before slipping in and closing it.

"If that's you shitty glasses go away!" He called from another room.

"Wrong person!" You called back.

Came poked his head around a doorway and rose a brow at you.

"Why are you here?" He asked.

You shrugged and he nodded his head. He could see that you had been crying but didn't want to question you, he also noticed the new bit of jewellery around your neck.

"You've seen Erwin." He pointed out.

He walked around the corner and sat on the couch. Without a word you went and sat next to him, legs crossed as you looked over.

"How'd you know?"

"The necklace. I was there when he got it made."

You nodded your head and clasped your hands in your lap. Glancing around the room.

"Levi..."

"What?"

"Will you... can you... make me a promise...?"

Levi rose a brow in question.

"Promise me you'll try stay safe? I don't... I don't want to lose you... if I lost you... I'd be lost. I'm the person I am today... I'm still here today... because of you and Erwin.... you're my anchor... and if you're gone... there's nothing stopping me from loosing control..."

"If something happens to me just find a new anchor. If something happens to that anchor, find a new one. Always find a new anchor."

"What if I can't...?"

"Then look harder. You still have your friends to bring you back."

You gazed into his eyes and he offered the tiniest of smiles.

"There's always something to hold on to. Always something to pull us back. For me, that thing was people I knew in my past. Then Erwin. Now it's you. There's always something to stop us loosing control. Yours was Erwin, now me."

"Yeah, I suppose you're right..."

Levi nodded his head and stood up, he walked around and grabbed a cloak from behind his desk and tossed it over to you.

You easily caught it, it was black, it looked old, there were a few holes near the bottom of it.

"I used to wear it. I don't need it anymore. Take it. Wear it tomorrow along with your Scouts Cloak. Maybe it'll give you some comfort or something."

You smiled brightly and wrapped it around your neck, standing up you twirled around a little.

"Thanks Levi! It's so cool!"

Skipping over, you wrapped your arms around his shoulders and hugged him. Levi stiffened up and placed an awkward hand on your back.

"Don't forget our promise brat."

"I won't! No demonic powers."

"Good."

You pulled away from Levi and he flicked your head.

"Good, now get going and be careful."

You raised your hand and ruffled his hair, placing a kiss to his cheek with a cheeky smile on your lips.

"Right!"

You jumped over his desk, scattering a few papers making him grumble, but before he could make you clean it you were out the room.

Levi sighed and rolled his eyes picking them up. He hoped that if you lost control and he wasn't there, the cloak would bring you some comfort.

Though, he also knew it didn't work like that.

You wondered down the hallway back to your room. Now you had two gifts, one from Levi and one from Erwin.

It made your heart ache as you thought about them giving you things, yet you gave them nothing to remember you by.

Searching through your belongings, you found two objects that you carried with you your whole life.

You grabbed two sheets of paper and two envelopes and begun to write.

It took a lot of thinking but you finally got there. You placed one of the letters into an envelope with the corresponding item.

If anything happens to me, give this to Erwin

You then grabbed the other and slipped it into another envelope.

If anything happens to me, give this to Levi.

It was going to be your first expedition, you wanted to be prepared for whatever was to come. You made up your mind you were going to leave these out every single time you went away, in case one day you didn't come back. You'd heard and seen for yourself all it took was one trip for someone to be gone, and their loved ones would be left without anything. That's not something you wanted to risk.

This way you could be at peace knowing you hadn't fully left them suddenly. You'd been thinking about this for a while, leaving something behind when you finally got to go, and you decided that you were going to do it
