Chapter 28

Time seemed to slow down, your eyes widened and Otis whipped around.

"(Y/N)!" He yelled.

Scrambling to get back up, Otis reached his hand out and grabbed yours, pulling you back.

As he pulled you back through, the force sent the pair of you tumbling to the floor. In order to protect you, Otis wrapped his arm around your head and the other one around your back, pulling you close to him as the pair of you landed on the floor.

You were breathing deeply, when you finally came to you slowly pulled yourself free, opening your eyes to see the demon below you.

"You're free..."

Otis smiled and reached up, cradling your face between his hands.

"All because of you."

He pulled you back down and hugged your tightly and you buried your head into his shoulder.

Otis held you closely to him, his fingers gripping at the fabric of your cloak as he did.

The pair of you laid like that for nearly 10 minutes before you finally pulled away and rolled off him. He stood up and held his hand out to you with a and with ease he hauled you to your feet before gently dropping your hand.

"How does it feel?"

"It certainly feels... unusual. I haven't been in this body for just over 100 years."

You took the time to see how he looked back when he was human. He was roughly around 6 foot you could tell that, and now that he was out the mirror you could see him better. He had a scar going across his nose and a really faint one trailing down his lip.

"I suppose it's weird seeing me, isn't it?" He chuckled.

"Yeah, I've never actually seen you."

He laughed and nodded his head, putting his hands into his pockets.

"I don't believe you have no. I wouldn't have had a full form inside of you."

You nodded your head and walked over to him. You were curious.

"Do you still have your powers?"

Otis hummed and held out his hand, a black ball of smoke swirling around in his palm before vanishing.

"I do, I wonder if you still have what I leant to you."

You focused but the guides never appeared.

"No."

Otis pat your shoulder and you both spun around when someone giggled. Lucy stood there with a smile on her face looking at the pair of you.

"You do not have the same powers now. Although you still have all the strength and such that you worked for. Your powers are different now. Copy what Otis did."

You held out your palm and focused, true to her word, a large shadow ball started to swirl around in your palms before exploding into nothing.

"Amazing..." you breathed.

"Indeed it is, but the pair of you have a lot of work ahead of you."

You connected eyes with Otis and the pair of you nodded.

"We're ready."

"Wonderful." Lucy clapped, "Otis do you remember everything you could do before you were sealed away?"

"I can."

"Good, I'd like you to teach (Y/N). Teach her everything you possibly can, it may take awhile but I think it'll benefit her."

"I agree it will."

"Please follow Haden to the training grounds, I must speak with Nathanael about something before we plan any further."

Everyone nodded, and Lucy left as Haden led your guys back down the endless hallways. You were excited but nervous to be learning new things, you needed to do this
