"Angels?" You asked.
The demon before you nodded his head.
"Angels are ungoverned. They have no rules and follow no ones orders. For the most part they're not a problem, however there is one you need to look out for is Michael. Although they have no leader, all angels will follow his rule."
"What does that have to do with us?"
"Michael dislikes demons. Whether they're good or bad, he wants us all gone. Although he can not get rid of us ancient demons, he can get rid of all others."
"Why don't you just get rid of him first?"
Nathanael smiled and laughed a little, shaking his head at you.
"We're bound to places such as this one. We are unable to leave. This is the work of a being that is long since gone."
You sat there silently, your head hurt. This was all so confusing you didn't understand any of it.
"I can see your confusion, no demon dares to take on Micheal and we're unable to."
You slowly nodded your head.
"I've heard whispers, rumours. Micheal is looking for you."
"Me? Why? I'm just a soldier..."
"I'm unsure why but I doubt it can be anything good."
"What do I do about it?"
"Well, you can either run. Or, you can try face him. It is completely up to you."
You stared down at your hands. You didn't understand, why was this angel after you? What did he want? What did you do?
"Take your time to think about this, okay? I'll call you back if I ever have any updates, and you are free to come back whenever you want."
"Thanks."
Nathanael nodded, waving his hand a blue orb appeared in front of you.
"Take this, it will lead you back. You can call upon it to light your way whenever you find yourself in darkness."
Carefully you reached out and touched the light, it floated in your palm as you moved it. Closing your fingers around the light dimmed, opening them again it grew brighter.
You waved your hand and it vanished, you did it again and it appeared.
"It's rather entertaining." Otis chuckled.
"It is." You laughed back.
Standing up, you held the orb in your palm, bowing your head respectfully to Nathanael.
"Thank you."
"It is my pleasure."
You turnt around and begun to make your way back the way you came when Nathanael's voice cut through.
"Oh, I forgot. The future holds a lot for you. You'll have to choose many paths, and each one will lead you in either the right or wrong direction. It is up to you to choose which way you go."
You nodded and left, taking the dark path back. His words weighed heavy on your mind, what is the wrong way? What would happen if you chose that? Yet, what is the right way? Would that be a happy ending of sorts?
So many questions, yet no answers. Knowing someone was after you, you had I decided what you wanted to do. Which choice would be better.
Sighing heavily, you reached the end of the path and carefully stepped out. Waving your hand to make the light go.
On the other side Haden and Lucy were waiting, when they saw you step out they quickly came and met you half way.
"How did it go?" Lucy asked.
You stayed silent.
"You've made up your mind, haven't you?"
"Yes."
Looking over the town, you grabbed the necklace and cloak once more. Your heart felt heavy as you touched them.
"I'm going to stay. I want to know how to separate Otis and I, I want to know about Micheal. I want to know everything you can teach me."
You got on your knees and rested your head on your hands against the ground. For the first time in your life you showed proper respect to someone.
"Please teach me! I need to prepare myself for what I may choose in the future."
A hand was placed on your head, and you looked up to see Lucy and Haden smiling down at you.
"Let's start right away." Lucy nodded
