Chapter 11

Morning came by fast, you were woken up by the light filtering in through you window.

With a groan, you sat up, rubbed your eyes and stretched your arms. Looking around your room.

"Otis..?" You mumbled out.

"Yes?"

You stayed quiet for a minute before shaking your head.

"Nothing. Thanks."

Otis knew what you were thanking him for, and he said nothing on the matter. He simply stayed quiet while you worked on getting your uniform on.

Strapping on your gear, you grabbed your green cloak and froze. Eyes drifting towards the black one, a smile slowly spreading on your face.

Moving your hand, you picked it up. Wrapping it around your shoulders and doing it up before you did the same with your green scouts one.

"That's me." You nodded.

Your eyes made their way the the two envelopes on the desk and your smile fell a little.

"I'll put you away when I come back." You nodded.

With that you left your room, heading to the dining hall to grab some food before you guys had to leave.

"(Y/N)!" Eren yelled.

You stopped and watched a him, Armin and Mikasa jogged to catch up to you. Once they had the four of you made your way there together.

"Ready for your first expedition?" Armin asked.

"Yeah... just nervous." You laughed slightly.

"It'll be fine. You're in my squad!" Eren grinned.

"True, I have my inhuman buddy to join me!" You smirked back.

He laughed and rolled his eyes, punching you lightly in the shoulder.

"We'll make an awesome team." He mused.

"I don't doubt it one bit." You replied.

As you reached the dining hall, you found all your friends sat there eating their food. You ran to grab you, sliding at the end of the table next to Connie.

"It's awesome you're finally joining us." Connie beamed.

"Yeah, now you can say you've finally been on one now that you're not being benched." Jean snickered.

"Alright horse face, no need for that." You whined.

He snickered and your rolled your eyes at him. No one really spoke they all just ate and enjoyed each other's company but soon it was time to get ready.

All the other soldiers were out reading their horses when you guys came outside. Heading to the stables, you started tacking up your horse.

"Hurry up, we need to line up!" Reiner whispered yelled to you walking past.

"Shit, yeah."

Grabbing the reins to your horse, you followed him outside. Everyone was split into groups, and you looked around for yours.

Thankfully they were easy enough to spot, Eren was waving at you from atop his horse. You climbed into yours and walked over, stopping in front of them all.

A man came up to you guys, he was youngish looking, mid thirties or around there. Black hair with coal black eyes.

"I take it you're (L/N), the cadet that's joining us this time."

"Yeah, that's me."

He nodded his head and offered you a reassuring smile.

"Right well, try not to use any of your... powers or whatever you call them got it?"

You nodded your head.

"Good. Now don't worry about a thing, if you have any questions just ask away."

You nodded once more and he left to talk to some others in your group. You and Eren just sat there together looking around.

"It'll be easy. We just have a look around, then come back."

"Yeah..."

Eren reaches over and placed a hand on your shoulder.

"No matter what happens, I'll protect you if you need it."

You laughed a little and placed your hand over that of your friends.

"I'll do the same for you. We've got this."

You let your hand fall and held it in the air, fiat closed as you grinned at him.

"Here's to being inhuman."

"Suppose it's not so bad in a way." Eren mused.

You hummed and watching as everyone started lining up. You followed Eren and lined up near the back, you got told you'd break up into groups once you left the walls.

Taking a deep breath your grip tightened on your reins as you closed your eyes.
