Chapter 18

*Dan's POV*

"Mum I don't want to go to school" I complained. "You have to Daniel, you missed too many classes already" she said calmly "I don't care, I'm not leaving Phil home alone" she just sighed. "Its only a few hours Dan, your mum's right you should go I'll be fine" Phil smiled at me, he tried getting up from the couch and a winced in pain "See he's in pain I can't leave him! You and dad have work I'll stay home with Phil" I didn't want to leave Phil alone, I didn't want him having any thoughts, I didn't want him to have to do things himself. "Dan its just my stitches its normal, I'll be okay I promise" he assured me. "I'm late for work I have to go, Dan please just listen" my mum said before she left, I looked at Phil "I don't want to leave you alone" I started to tear up and Phil grabbed my hand "I will be okay, I promise I'll text you if I need anything, now go before you're late" he kissed my cheek and I sighed, I didn't want to argue or say no to him so I got my bag and left.

"Dan!" I heard someone call my name, it was Peter "How's Phil?" He asked me. "He's much better now, he and my mom basically forced me to come here" I sighed as we headed off to class. First period went by slow, I was thinking about Phil the entire time, I was the first one to leave the class it was time for math, so I headed towards the class, maybe I should text Phil. I took my seat and pulled my phone out "Heyy, you doing ok? :)" My phone buzzed two minutes later "yeah I'm fine its just a little quiet. You should be paying attention in class!" I wanted to go home right now "I'll be home soon, don't worry :) school's boring tbh" "Dan, I'm fine! Stay in school please, I'm going to take a nap pay attention in class" After that I just waited for class to be over, the teacher gave me work for Phil too, to be honest school is the least of Phil's worries I decided to go home right after math, I didn't want Phil being alone. I went home and went up to Phil's room he was asleep, I sat on the side of his bed and kissed his forehead, he opened his eyes "Dan? You're home early" he said yawning "What can i say, I couldn't keep away from you" I laughed, he threw a pillow at me and laughed before sitting up "You're so stubborn" he joked "You love me anyways" I winked at him, he rolled his eyes and laughed at me. "I just remembered, I got you something while you were at the hospital, I wanted to give it to you when you came home" I ran into room and grabbed the gift bag and went back to Phil's room "I was at the shop and saw this and I felt like its something you'd like, its not too cheesy is it?" I asked, he pulled out a stuffed lion from the bag and his face instantly lit up "I love it! Thank you" before I could say anything he kissed me and I kissed him back, we spent the day in his room talking and playing board games my parents got me years ago. When my parents came home we had dinner and talked and then head off for bed, Phil was asleep in his room and I was wide awake in my room thinking about everything. I was thinking about Phil, how lucky I am to have him and still have him around, I can spend all day with him tomorrow since its Saturday and I don't have to worry about school, I wish the night would be over I couldn't sleep, I looked at the clock 1 am. I got up and quietly walked to Phils room, I leaned down and kissed his cheek he looked so peaceful sleeping "Dan? What's wrong?" He said sleepily "Nothing, go back to sleep" I said quietly "Are you okay?" He asked me "Yeah, just having trouble sleeping, you go back to sleep" Phil made some room and lifted his blanket "Come here" he said and I layed down next to him he wrapped his arm around me and before I knew it I drifted off to sleep

*Phil's POV*

I woke up and Dan was still fast asleep, I quietly got up and went to bathroom to freshen up, my stitches didn't hurt so much anymore I went back to my room and Dan was still asleep he looked so cute sleeping. I grabbed a pillow and hit him "Wake up lazy!!" I laughed and he groaned "Phillll" he whined and I hit him again "I'm up! Jesus Phil" he said rubbing his head and I kissed his cheek. I waited for Dan downstairs as he freshened up, I made breakfast for the both of us, I should start doing things myself "You made breakfast?" He asked "Yup! I wanted to I feel better" I smiled, he gave me and quick kiss and we ate "You have a doctors appointment today, Dad told me to take you, he's doing his research for your dad" he reminded. "I'm so tired of doctor appointments" I sighed "I know babe, but they need to make sure you're healing so they know when to remove your stitches" and I nodded. We cleaned up after breakfast and left for the hospital. The doctor examined my stitches "You're healing well, does it still hurt?" He asked "Not much, it hurts sometimes" I explained "That's good, we should be able to remove them by next week, wait here please" he said before leaving. I looked down at my body "I look ugly" I mumbled, "I heard that Phil" Dan said. "I'm sorry, its just the marks are huge a-and my arms.." I looked at the scars on my arm "Phil stop, no matter what you're still beautiful" he grabbed my hand and kissed my forehead. "Alright Mr. Lester, so your stitches will be removed next Saturday, and your next session is on Tuesday don't forget" the doctor said coming back and I sighed "Thank you" I said before leaving.

"Let's go to Starbucks, I'm hungry" Dan suggested, hearing that made me happy I'm so glad he's eating right again, we got our orders and I noticed the girl staring at my arm with sadness in her eyes I pulled my sleeve down and we got a table. I sat their quietly as we ate "Phil? What's wrong?" Dan asked me "Um, nothing don't worry" I gave him a small smile,he reached over and grabbed my hand and intertwined our fingers "You know Phil, I haven't cut since we started dating, I was serious when I said you made a better and happier person" I smiled at him "I just want to see you happy Phil" i sighed and looked down "I just hate what I did, these scars won't ever leave, they're permanent" I said sadly "They'll fade eventually, I promise, it'll take time but they'll fade." He said, he got up and sat right next to me and kissed me softly, we pulled away and I put my head on his shoulder and squeezed his hand.
