Chapter 43

*Phil's POV*

Dan and I weren't speaking again, it was partially my fault, but all I did was speak the truth, he needs to accept it. "Hey Phil, I'll bring Vanessa over in an hour" Crystal texted me "that's great! I was going to message asking when you'll be here :) " I texted back, I knew having Vanessa would make me feel better even though Dan and I weren't speaking. That girl always put me in a good mood, she was really bright for her age, she's only 4 but some how she always knows what to say. An hour later I heard a knock at the door I ran downstairs to open it, Vanessa jumped and hugged me "Hi Phil!!" she giggled "Hello" I smiled hugging her back. "Are you okay Phil?" Crystal asked concerned "Yeah, just didn't sleep well" I laughed softly lying "Are you sure?" She asked obviously not believing me and I nodded "I'll speak with you later, I'm running late" she said, I said good bye and took Vanessa inside she ran and hugged Dan "Hii!!" She said cheerfully "Hey Princess" Dan said giving her a small smile "Why do you two look sad?" She asked pouting "We aren't" Dan said smiling at her "Yes you are, those are fake smiles" she frowned, this little girl was really smart. I picked her up "We're fine Vanessa" I smiled "Its because you think you're going to heaven isn't it?" She pouted and I sighed "Come on, let's write the letter to Santa so you two can stop worrying! Come on Dan you too" she said cheerfully as I sat her down on the couch, she pulled out paper and markers "Vanessa you know I'm an adult, Santa won't listen to me" I explained to her "That's why I'm writing it silly! This will be my present!" She giggled "Princess Christmas is very far away" I tried again "Its good to write letters early so Santa gets it first" she explained, I looked at Dan he was smiling at her, I guess he was amused and found this adorable. "You should ask Santa for something better, don't waste your letter on me" I said softly "That's the only thing I want! Nothing will me happier" she smiled at me, I didn't know what else to say to her, I couldn't say  Santa wasn't real that would break her. "You agree don't you Dan?" She asked him, I looked at him he didn't look at me but instead smiled and nodded at Vanessa, I sighed. "You two are fighting aren't you?" Vanessa asked quietly "No, of course we're not" Dan said softly "You two aren't talking, this is how my mommy and daddy were before they broke up and my daddy doesn't talk to me anymore either" she whispered sadly "No Vanessa we aren't fighting really" I said "Please just make up, I don't want you two fighting, I'm going to colour until you make up" she said and she continued coloring, Dan got up and sat next to me "Phil.." He started saying but I cut him off "I want you to write an eulogy for me Dan" he stared at me "What?" He asked "I could die anytime Dan" I said softly "What's a eulogy?" Vanessa asked "It's something you write for someone who goes to heaven" I explained "Oh but you won't need that anytime soon, I'm almost done my letter" she said cheerfully going back to concentrating "What the hell I'm not doing that" Dan said "You have to Dan" I said plainly "No, I'm not doing that! You aren't dying Phil" he said and I sighed "I am bear, just accept it" I said softly, I know I was being unfair but I needed Dan to be ready "I am not accepting that!" Dan said raising his voice "What did I say about fighting please don't fight" Vanessa pouted "I wanna go home if you're going to fight" she was sobbing now "No princess its okay" Dan said softly picking her up "My mommy and daddy always fought and he doesn't love her or me anymore" she cried, Dan wiped her tears away "Its normal for people to argue sweetie, that doesn't mean we don't love each other" he whispered to her, I swear I found myself falling in love with him more he'd be a great father, I need to snap out of this, this is serious. "Why are you two fighting though?" She asked pouting "Because I want Phil to stay with me and he keeps saying he will go to heaven" he whispered and she looked at me and reached for me, so I took her from Dan "Do you love Dan?" She asked me "Yes I do" I gave her a small smile "Then you should tell him that you will be strong and stay with him" she said, I just stared at her in surprise this was coming from a 4 year old. "And do you love Phil?" She asked Dan and he nodded "Then you wouldn't get mad at him,you will say that you will stay strong with him" she smiled, Dan stared at me. I put Vanessa down she went to her letter or was pretending to work on it, Dan walked up to me hugged me "She's right, we're being dumb, what's important is that I keep you happy and I love you" he whispered, I hugged him back "I love you too" I whispered and he kissed my neck "Not now Dan" I laughed and he let go blushing. "how is it that a 4 year old is smarter than us?" Dan asked laughing "I was just wondering that" I smiled looking at Vanessa "I'm done with my letter!! I'll mail it when mommy comes over!" Vanessa said suddenly holding the letter up making me laugh. Crystal came back after a couple of hours to pick Vanessa up "Mommy we need to mail this!!" She said jumping up and down "Okay sweetie. So everything okay with you now?" Crystal asked me "Yes don't worry, it was just a moment, Vanessa cheered me up" I laughed and she smiled at me and Vanessa. Vanessa yawned and rubbed her eyes "Come on baby let's get you home" Crystal said picking her up and she drifted off the sleep instantly, we said our goodbyes and they left. "I'm going to our room, wanna join me?" I asked heading upstairs and he nodded following me.

*Dan's POV*

I followed Phil upstairs, he went inside and layed down on the bed, I layed down next to him leaving a gap between us, we stared at each other for a moment. I snuggled up to him and intertwined our fingers "Phil? Are you happy with me?" I asked "That's a silly question, of course I am. Why do you ask?" He answered "I feel like I make you unhappy and push you away" I said softly "What if we have an unhappy marriage?" I asked getting up, he pulled me close to him "What's wrong Bear?" He asked frowning "I-Im scared you'll change your mind about marrying me" I whispered and he softly kissed me "I won't ever change my mind, all I want is to marry you" he said softly, my eyes filled with tears "I don't want to lose you" I sobbed "I don't want to leave you Dan, I know I was harsh but Vanessa is right I need to stay strong, I'm not going anywhere" he sat sitting up, I sat up and faced him and he hugged me tightly. I noticed keys on the side table "Wait what are those for?" I asked confused "For our car" Phil said "Wait car?" Now I was confused "Yeah I got it a couple days ago, I thought its pointless to have a license without a car. I got a Mercedes" he said laughing "How did I  not know about this?" I laughed "Because you never go in the garage and you're easy to get past" Phil joked "You always surprise me" I said wrapping my arms around him and pulling him in for a kiss, he kissed me back as I gently layed him down on the bed. "I don't mean to ruin the moment, but how about we drive to the club for a date night" Phil suggested and I sat up "You sure?" I asked and he nodded. We both got up and got stressed, as usual I unbuttoned Phil's top buttons "Bear" he pouted "You look great this way babe" I said pecking his lip. We got in the car, it was beautiful. Phil drove to the club "Um Dan, what about the drinks?" He asked me nervously "I can make an exception for today" I smiled at him holding his hands. Quiet honestly I do not remember much of what happened at the club, except for the fact we both had a little too much to drink. I also remember being pushed against the wall and Phil kissing me hard, I remember kissing him back, it was hard sloppy drunk making out.

*Peter's POV*

Things were finally going smooth with me and Nina, we turned her uncle in and she agreed on giving me another chance and moved in with me. I was thankful that she gave me a chance, I realized how much I actually I love her. We came down to the club to have a bit of fun, obviously we weren't drinking, Nina couldn't because pregnant and I thought its only fair that I avoid alcohol too so she doesn't feel bad. "Um Peter, isn't that Dan and Phil?" She asked pointing at two guys making out "Yup that's definitely them" I said face palming "They're drunk, we should take them home" she whispered, I haven't talked to Phil in a long time I was scared to but he was wasted so it would be smart to take him home. "Okay guys time to go home" I said pulling them apart "Peetur? I don't want to go" Dan slurred "Dude you're wasted I'm taking you home" I said "I can drive" Phil said holding his keys, I snatched them from him "Yeah no you won't" I said,Nina helped me take them to their car, we sat then in the back seat and we sat in the front. I checked behind me from the mirror and they were again making out, literally chewing each others faces off "Hey knock it off! I don't need to see any of that" I said annoyed and Nina laughed. Next thing they're basically stripping each other, Phil was unbuttoning Dan's shirt still making out and I threw a box of tissues at them "For fucks sakes wait till you get home" I said and Nina kept laughing, but they wouldn't listen "Okay if you don't stop then I'm pulling over and sending Nina to the back and making one of you sit at the front" I said getting annoyed now "Don't be bitter Peetur" Dan said pouting and I sighed "This is going to be a long night" I sighed and Nina took my hand "Its okay, we're helping out our friends" she said softly kissing my cheek.
