Chapter 3 ~The Wolves & The Intruder

Lily's POV:

Edward pulled up into the school parking lot. "Did you enjoy this weekend?" he asked me.

I nodded, "It was great. I'm just worried about Will since he's growing fast. I'm worried we aren't gonna have enough time with him" I told him.

"Carlisle's doing research. He's looking for answers. We just have to keep making every moment count" he told me and I nodded.

All of a sudden, he stiffened up and looked out the window, "What's wrong?" I asked.

"If I asked you to stay in the car, would you?" he asked me. I raised my eyebrow at him as he got out.

I got out too, "Of course not" he said as we walked towards the school.

I saw a familiar figure leaning against a motorcycle, it was Jake. Jake walked towards us, "Hey" I greeted.

"Danny said you and Will left town" he told me.

"Yeah, the three of us went on a family trip up North. Why?" I asked him.

"He's checking to see if you're still human" Edward told me.

Jake glared at Edward, "Look, I'm here to warn you. If your kind come on our land again..." I cut him off, "Wait, what?" I asked confused.

Jake looked at me before looking at Edward, "You didn't tell her?" he asked him.

"Just leave it alone, Jacob" Edward told him.

I turned to Edward, "Tell me what?" I asked him.

"Emmett and Paul had a misunderstanding. It's nothing to worry about" he told me.

"Listen to you. Did you lie to get her and Will out of town, too?" Jake asked him as Edward stepped up to him.

"You should just leave. Now" Edward told him angrily.

"She has a right to know. She is the one the redhead wants" Jake told him.

I stepped up to them, "Victoria?" I asked them, "Alice's vision" I said in realization.

"I was trying to protect you and Will" Edward told me.

"By lying to me. I thought you wanted to go on a trip so we could spend time with our son" I told him sadly.

He looked at me guiltily, but I looked at Jake, "Jake, I've been calling you for days. Why haven't you called me back?" I asked him.
