Chapter 8 ~Disagreements~

Lily's POV:

I was laying on the examination table in Carlisle's hospital room that he made for me as he examined my x-ray and Edward stood away from me.

"You're rib is cracked" Carlisle told me, "But there are no splinters. You haven't punctured anything" he added.

"Yet" Edward added angrily.

"Edward" Carlisle scolded him.

Edward looked at me angrily, "They're breaking your  bones now. They're crushing you from the inside out" he told me.

I closed my eyes to try to stop the tears from falling. "Carlisle, tell her what you told me. Tell her" Edward said.

I opened my eyes and looked at Carlisle, "It's okay. Tell me, please" I told him.

Carlisle came to my side, "The fetuses aren't compatible with your body. They're not like Will. They're much stronger than him. They won't allow you to get the nutrition you need. They're starving you by the hour. They won't take the animal blood as well. I can't stop it, and I can't slow it down. At this rate, your heart will give out before you can deliver" he told me.

"Then I'll hold on as long as I can" I told him.

"Lily. There are some conditions that even venom can't overcome" Carlisle told me sadly.

"You understand? I'm sorry" he told me before leaving the room with just me and my husband.

I turned to Edward, "I'm sorry" I told him sadly.

"I can't live without you. Neither can Will" he told me sadly. "Those things are gonna take you away from us" he told me.

"You won't. You're gonna have a part of me. Will and the twins need you" I told him, "They can't lose both of us" I added.

"Do you honestly think that I could love them or even tolerate them if they killed you?" Edward asked me.

"It's not their fault. You have to accept what is" I told him sadly.

"Because you've given me no choice!" Edward yelled, making me flinch.

"Lily, we're supposed to be soulmates, remember? We can't live without each other. But you decided this on your own. You've decided to leave me" he added.

"Don't see it that way" I told him.

"Well, I have no other way to see it. 'Cause it's me and Will who'll lose you. And he didn't choose that and I don't choose that" Edward told me before walking out.

I closed my eyes as tears fell. 'Danny, can you come into the office?' I asked through the mind link.

Danny walked in and saw me crying. He looked at me sadly before coming to my side and hugging me.

"I'm right here. I got you. Remember what I told you when we found out you were pregnant with Will?" He asked me.

"I told you we would get through this like we always do, together" he told me.

"Whatever happens to me, keep my babies safe. Will and the twins. Keep them safe. Please Danny" I begged him.

"I promise. I won't let anyone touch them" he told me as he kissed my head and cried in his arms.

It feels just like when I was pregnant with Will, I was alone and only had Danny. I don't care what happens to me, I just want all three of my babies safe.

After the check up, Rose helped me take a bath. I was sitting in a chair while she turned on the water. I stood up and faced the mirror.

I took off my robe and I could literally see my bones. I was getting weaker each day. I know that what's happening is dangerous, but I know this is supposed to happen.
