Chapter 11 ~A Visit From The Volturi~

Lily's POV:

I stood next to Edward as he held me close. "They're coming" Alice told us.

We watched as Jane, Alec, Felix, and Demetri walked towards us. They stopped in front of us and took their hoods off.

"Impressive. I've never seen a coven escape an assault of this magnitude" Jane said.

"We were lucky" Carlisle told her.

"I doubt that" Jane told him.

"It appears we missed an entertaining fight" Alec said.

"Yes. It's not often we're rendered unnecessary" Jane agreed.

"If you'd arrived a half hour ago, you would've fulfilled your purpose" Edward retorted.

"Pity" Jane said, before noticing the newborn, "You missed one" she added with a smirk.

Jasper moved closer to her as my hands started to glow blue, ready to protect the girl.

"We offered her asylum in exchange for her surrender" Carlisle told Jane calmly.

"That wasn't yours to offer" Jane told him before turning to the girl.

"Why did you come?" Jane asked the newborn before torturing her.

The girl screamed in pain, making me flinch and wanting to kill Jane.

"Who created you?" Jane asked as she continued to torture the girl, making her scream again.

"You don't need to do that. She'll tell you anything you want to know" Esme told Jane.

"I know" Jane said before stopping the torture on the poor girl.

"I don't know! Riley wouldn't tell us. He said our thoughts weren't safe" the girl told her fearfully.

She didn't deserve this. She was young and innocent. She had a whole life ahead of her.

"Her name is Victoria. Perhaps you knew her" Edward told Jane as she looked at him.

"Edward, if the Volturi had knowledge of Victoria, they would have stopped her. Isn't that right, Jane?" Carlisle said, trying to defuse the tension.

"Of course" she told him, but I wasn't convinced. "Felix" she said and the big guy moved to kill the girl.

"She didn't know what she was doing. We'll take responsibility for her" Esme said, trying to save the girl.

"Give her a chance" Carlisle added.

"The Volturi don't give second chances" she said before looking at me, "Keep that in mind, Caius will be interested to know that the witch is still human" she added.

I glared my blue eyes at her, "The date is set" I told her.

"Take care of that, Felix. I'd like to go home" Jane said to the man.

The man took a step forward when I glowed my eyes and jerked my hand forward, "Vodux" I exclaimed and he was thrown far away from us.

The Cullens tried to stop me, but they stopped when they saw the blue glow and power radiating off of me. I moved out of Edward's grasp and said a fire boundary spell around the guards.

The guards looked at me in fear and awe, "Leave the girl alone. You've seen what I can do, do you really want to test me?" I snapped at them as the glow started to get brighter.

"We'll go. We'll let the girl live" Jane said with slight fear in her voice.

I waved my hand, "Namia Exum Solvos" I said and the spell was lifted. They looked at me one more time before leaving.
