"Please let my gut be wrong... come on Reg don't have done something dumb." James thought aloud while running towards the castle...
He ran quickly and quietly throughout the castle until he got to the fat lady painting. He said the password waking her slightly as she opened for him. He ran inside and up the stairs to the dorm room.
When he got there he saw the bathroom door shut, the light on, and crying coming from inside.
*Time jump backwards focusing on Reg*
Right once they all had left Regulus pulled out an old book he had checked out from the library. It was all about some weird creatures called Nekos. After a while of reading his mind started drifting off. That was never a good thing.
"You know that they don't really love you right?"
"They only tolerate you because your Sirius's little brother."
"Your a useless know-it-all brat that is taking up too much space in this world."
The evil thoughts came crashing down onto Regulus, every word stinging like a knife.
"Just end it now. You know where the blades are. You know you can just take out the pain and end it all here. Stop taking up other people's oxygen, rid the others of your annoying presence."
The thoughts said making him shakily get up and walk towards the bathroom. He turned on the light and shut the door, then went under the sink and grabbed his hidden shattered mirror piece.
He started at the makeshift blade in his hand with tears running down his face.
"Do it, end your life and the misery."
One of the voices yelled making Reg flinch.
He let out a strangled sob before lifting the blade to his wrist. Was he really about to end his life? All because of some stupid words?
Before he could truly think of that question he heard the door slam open. Reg dropped the shattered glass into the sink in shock making it shatter even more.
Before Regulus could give more of a reaction he was pulled into a strong yet comforting embrace.
"What happened baby?" James asked as he sat them both down onto the cold tile floor. All he got back in reply was another sob as Reg clutched onto James's shirt.
James started telling him sweet nothingness while pulling him closer and running his hand through his hair. After a few minutes Regulus had calmed down enough so he wasn't crying as much and he could breath some what properly.
"You don't have to tell me what happened right now but you will have to tell me soon." James said in a calm tone making Reg nod in response. Eventually Regulus fully calmed his breathing and his tears had stopped coming down.
"I'm sorry." He croaked out confusing James.
"For what love?" James asked as Regulus looked up at him.
"Everything." Reg replied bluntly, only confusing James further.
"You have nothing to apologize for. You haven't done anything to me." James stated as Reg cuddled closer to him.
"I almost killed myself, I think that would have affected you. May it have been joy or something else I will never know." Regulus said with a sigh making James's eyes widen.
All James thought was that Regulus would just cut himself again, not that he wanted him too but it was better than suicide.
"Why would you think that it would be joy? I would be heart broken. I would become depressed, I wouldn't want to do anything. It would be terrible. And what about Sirius? I don't even want to think about what would happen with him." James semi ranted before Regulus hugged him tighter, shutting him up.
"Please just don't do it again. I love you too much to even think of you not being here with me. Promise me that if you want to anything close to this again then you will come to me. Please." James practically begged as he gently lifted Reg's face up to look at him.
When Regulus looked up at James he did not expect to see James with a few tears running down his face or the pleading puppy dog eyes he was being given. Regulus took a deep breath before nodding. "I promise that if I have the urge to do anything then I will come to you. I love you too." Regulus said as a few more tears came down from his puffy eyes.
James smiled before kissing Regulus. The kiss was passionate and full of love but nothing that would make Regulus uncomfortable. Regulus quickly kissed back with the same amount of passion and love. The kiss was slightly wet from their tear stained cheeks and lips but that didn't bother them one bit.
When they pulled away they rested their foreheads together. "Its really late, how about we go to the bed and cuddle until we fall asleep?" James asked knowing that Remus would already have fully transformed into Comet.
"Don't you have to get back to help with Comet?" Regulus asked attempting to hide the disappointment in his voice.
"They will understand. We can't tell them the non detailed version tomorrow and it will be fine." James reassured before picking Regulus up bridal style. Reg squealed at the sudden movement and quickly wrapped his arms around James's shoulders. James smiled down at Regulus before gently placing him down onto the bed.
"I will be right back." James reassured as he moved back to the bathroom. James melted the glass with a spell making it go down the drain before he turned the light off and headed back to Reg.
"We should change into pajamas before we fall asleep." James said making Regulus groan. So they quickly changed before getting into the bed.
James was laying down onto his back as Reg was on his chest. Their legs where tangled together as James's arms were wrapped around Regulus's back and Reg was cuddled up onto James's chest.
"Thank you." Regulus said suddenly making James look down at him.
"Your welcome, I will always be there for you. I love you." James replied while pulling Regulus impossibility closer.
"I love you too." Reg muttered before falling asleep. James following very soon after.
They where exhausted from everything that had just happened. It was also three thirty in the morning so they had stayed up quite late as well.
Tomorrow would be interesting to explain to the others...

Summary-
Regulus was left alone so the others could go and help Comet. James got a feeling that something was wrong so he went to check on Reg. Regulus thought about committing sui*ide but didn't because James helped him. They ended up kissing, then cuddling before they fell asleep.
