Ch. 51: Byakugan Battle: Hinata Grows Bold!

3rd POV

"Hey, congrats buddy!" Y/n fist bumps Naruto with a proud grin.

Naruto laughs gleefully with his cheeks warming up a bit. "Thanks n/n chan!"

Naruto stands between y/n and Sakura as he checks out the ointment that he received from Hinata. He unscrews the top and grabs a pinch on his fingertip. Next, he rubs it on his arm where the scratches are. Like magic, his wound instantly heals up with a sizzle and steam.

"Whoa, this stuff Hinata gave me works fast." Naruto closes the container and moves it back and forth to Sakura and y/n. "Here, want to try it, Sakura, n/n chan?"

Sakura blinked owlishly, staring at the medication. "Hm?"

He shows it to the song girl again, but she politely shakes her head. "No thanks, Naru. I already had some applied from Snowy."

Behind them, Kakashi has his hands in his pockets and is gazing at the spiky blonde boy. 'Only your wounds will heal that quickly, Naruto. It's not the ointment. It's the power of the Nine-Tailed Fox. It never ceases to surprise me.'

The e/c eyed girl notices someone walking away, so she turns her head and sees the ravenette about to go downstairs. "Hey Hina, wait up!" Hinata looks up at her curiously by the stairs. "I'll go down with you. There's something I need to tell him too." Y/n said as she came close to her friend.

"O-Okay." She nods and proceeds to walk down with y/n following.

When they finally reach downstairs, they see the medics approaching close to them with both Kiba and Akamaru.

Hinata takes a few steps to her teammate, "Uh, Ki-Kiba?" The medics stop moving as Kiba lifts his hooded head at her in confusion. "Here. Here's some healing ointment." She holds out the same container that Naruto had. "It's for you and Akamaru."

Y/n looks away with a giddy smile on her s/c face. 'I can't, I just can't. She is so darn cute! Aaaahhh!!' She clears her throat quietly and faces them again.

Kiba takes a long look at her until he winks with a reassuring grin. "Ha, forget about us. You better start worrying about yourself, Hinata."

"W-What do you mean?"

Kiba breathes in, trying to overcome his pain. "Only eight left. Just you and Choji, Neji, Lee, Haku, and then there are those three guys from the Sound, Sand, and Rain Villages." His face turns serious. "Listen to me, be smart." Hinata looks at him in surprise. "If they put you in with that guy from the Sand Village, you've got to forfeit the match. Same with Neji. Be smart and just walk away. Trust me, he'll be merciless. He'll destroy you."

"Nice, real nice advice Triangles." The little song girl sarcastically told him.

Kiba's eyes went wide from just noticing her. "Y-Y/n! What brings you here?"

She gives him the lazy smile. "Just checking up on you and your pooch. Even though you were a bit merciless back there." Kiba sweat drops with an apologetic smile. "But seriously, you guys were good, got me even impressed."

Kiba went full on red with his heart beating rapidly. "R-Really?! Thanks y/n!" Hinata notices his change of behavior with a knowing small smile. "Maybe when Akamaru and I are healed up, we could show you what other jutsus we can do?" He glances at y/n with a hopeful glint in his eyes.

She forms a close eyed smile, "Sure, I would be happy to see them." She didn't see his beaming grin nor the envious stares he's receiving from both the balconies. "But seriously Kiba, have some faith in this cutie patootie right here. She still has some spunk, she just needs to find them and let them out." She wraps her arm around Hinata's shoulder with a stern frown.
