Ch. 34: The Chunin Exam Stage 2: The Forest of Death

3rd POV

As the participants stared at the Forest of Death, Naruto was looking up with his right hand over his eyes, blocking out the sunlight. Y/n who is right next to him, watches in confusion.

Until she hears Sakura who is behind them tremble. "T-this whole place just completely creeps me out."

Anko heard what she said with a grin.

She chuckles, "It should, they call it the Forest of Death. And soon enough, you're gonna find out why."

Naruto turns to y/n and winks at her with a mischievous grin.

Y/n grins back at him thinking, 'Ooh, here it comes~' Y/n laughs quietly behind her hand.

Naruto breathes out a steam of air through his nose and puts both fists on his hips. He bends down a bit and starts swinging his hips and butt back and forth.

He mockingly says, "They call it the the Forest of Death, and soon enough you're gonna find out why." The little song girl cannot take it anymore and starts laughing out loud with tears running down her cheeks. "Do your worst, you're not gonna scare me away! I can handle anything!" He points at Anko.

Y/n manages to tell him through her giggles, "That's right Naru. Let them hear your roar." Then, she laughs again.

Anko tilts her head with a close-eyed smile. "So, looks like we've got ourselves a tough guy." All of a sudden, she brings out a kunai through her sleeve and throws it fast, making a scratch on Naruto's cheek.

Y/n gasps and avoids the incoming weapon barely. As soon as the weapon landed, it cut some strands of hair from a grass ninja.

As fast as lightning, Anko disappears from her spot and reappears behind the blonde. "You tough enough to handle this? You're not afraid are you?" Naruto, who is feeling scared, did not answer as his blood drips down from his cut. The purple haired proctor puts her hand on his other cheek, the other near his neck. "Tough guys like you usually leave their blood all over this forest."

She touches his blood with her finger when suddenly, she brings out another kunai and swings around, about to attack. She stops however, from seeing an outstretched tongue over her shoulder holding her first kunai. It was the same grass ninja, who is in a close proximity behind Anko. Naruto stares at her tongue, horrified. The h/c haired girl's e/c orbs shrink in fear as she takes a few shaky steps back. Haku notices her behavior and sees her starting to intake short, sharp breaths. He quickly approaches her, wrapping his arm around her in a comforting manner.

"Y/n, what's wrong?" He asked her in deep concern.

She didn't answer as she kept staring at the creepy figure.

"I was, just returning your knife." The grass ninja said with her eerie voice.

"Why thank you grass ninja." They then stare each other down. "Ya know, I really only recommend you stand this close behind me, if you wish to reach your premature end." She grabs the kunai as the long tongue slides back inside the long haired ninja's mouth.

"My pardon, with a sight of blood on your blade slicing through my hair... I'm afraid that I just became a little excited. I meant you no harm."

Hinata gazes at the whiskered boy in worry. "Naruto..."

'How can I be so careless?! Of course Voldemort II is here! And how can no one not notice him right away?! He's the only one that can stretch his tongue out like a snake for crying out loud! Red flags there!!!' Y/n feels her heart beating fast like she ran a mile run.
