Ch. 44: Bushy Brow's Jealousy- Lions Barrage Unleashed!

3rd POV

Sasuke smirks when seeing his name on the screen. 'Didn't waste any time, did they?' He winces, feeling more pain from his curse mark.

Yoroi, who's wearing a black cloth over the lower half of his face and dark shades scoffs. "I couldn't ask for anything more."

'No! Why did it have to be Sasuke?' Sakura thought in despair.

Y/n turns to him, "Duckie, good luck out there."

He gives her a half smirk, "This will be over before you know it."

"No need to get ahead of yourself." She repeated his words with a mischievous smile.

As he passed by her, they both gave each other high five.

"All right now, those whose names have been drawn, come forward." The two walk downstairs to the proctor. "You have been chosen for the second match, Yoroi Akado and Sasuke Uchiha. Are there any objections?"

"None here." Sasuke said.

"No." Yoroi answered.

Without anyone seeing, the disguised Orochimaru's smirk widens even more.

Sakura is looking at her teammate longingly. 'Wow, that's it. All I can do now is watch.'

'You better win, Sasuke, if you ever hope to take me on.' Naruto thought with a frown.

Y/n bops her head subtly, mentally chanting, 'Let's go Duckie, let's go. Let's go Duckie let's go.'

Haku finishes wrapping up her wound. "All done."

She gives him a grateful smile. "Thanks!"

Ino on the other hand, stares at the Uchiha aghast. 'Something is wrong. He's acting strangely.'

'Could it be the curse mark?' Ibiki thought, feeling a bit intimidated.

Lee watches, 'Sasuke, good luck.' He clenches his fist tightly.

'Now we just sit back and see what happens.' Neji thought with a small smirk.

Sasuke grits his teeth harder, feeling the mark. 'The pain won't go away.'

Yoroi notices his pained expression. "That curse mark giving you trouble?" He taunted him.

"All right then, let's begin the second match. *Cough*"

Kakashi instantly teleports from upstairs to Sasuke.

He whispers, "Sasuke, don't use your Sharingan."

He gets caught off guard but then smiles cunningly right after. "So you know about it?"

"If that mark on your neck gets out of control, your life could be in danger." The Jounin informed him.

"I'm aware of that."

"Just to let you know, if it gets to that point, I'll have to step in and stop the fight. Good luck~" Kakashi walks away with his hands in his pockets.

Sasuke snaps his head to him with a shock look on his face. 'Stop the fight?!' He touches his mark with his right hand. 'This thing, it seems to be responding to my chakra.' A flashback plays of him training with his Sharingan back at the Forest of Death. 'Got to try. Use the last of my chakra. Sharingan!' His eyes changed color but the mark also activated, lighting up like embers.

He suddenly collapsed, screaming out excruciatingly.

Sakura quickly bends down next to him. "Sasuke please! Stop using your Sharingan! Don't do it!" The flashback ends.
