Ch. 27: A New Chapter Begins: The Chunin Exam!

On the path to the Leaf Village...

I am still being carried by Cowprint as my group and I traveled back to our home. I lift my head and take a peek at the side of his face, contemplating if I should get off of him or not. Until I jumped a little from his rough voice.

"Yeah kid?" His deep voice rumbles.

I blush so hard for being caught, that I didn't notice Cowprint taking a peek at me and smirking under his bandages.

"I-I was just gonna ask you if you're already tired from carrying me. I can walk from here?"

He chuckles humorously making my face even redder. Unbeknown to us, Haku, Naru, Duckie, and Mr. Kaka glares heatedly towards Cowprint's back.

"I'm fine, you don't need to worry about me."

"Are you sure I'm not too heavy?" I raise my eyebrows, looking at my chubby body.

"You're light as a feather kid." He genuinely said.

I giggle. "Thanks Cowprint."

"And when will you stop calling me that?" He raises his nonexistent brow.

"When you wear another animal print." I smirk at him, hearing the rest of the group laughing under their breaths.

"What's wrong Zabuza? Is her nickname not good enough for you?~" Mr. Kaka asked him teasingly with an outlined smirk on his mask.

"Not as much as yours Mr. Kaka." Both of them squint at each other with lighting striking down.

I sweat drop, "Okay ladies, no need to start a cat fight."

Cowprint and Mr. Kaka just sigh tiredly, as Haku chuckles. Oh, speaking of Haku...

"Hey Haku?"

He turns his head to me, "Hm? Yes y/n?"

"Do you mind if I call you Snowflake or Snowy?" I cheekily asked him.

His pale face begins to flush in color from the nickname I gave him. I felt Cowprint's body shake from laughing.

"Uh, I-I---"

"Snowy it is then!" I announced with a big grin on my face.

Before we knew it, the tall green gate of Konoha appears a few yards away. I gasp happily, tapping Cowprint on the shoulder to let me down. At first he became hesitant, in which I didn't understand why until Naru picks me up from the waist and puts me down to the ground.

"Thanks Naru!"

"Hehe, n-no problem n/n chan!" He scratches the back of his head with red cheeks.

"Naru, are you okay? You're not getting sick are you?" I put my d/h hand on his forehead feeling his temperature.

His face ends up being even more red, making me feel even more concern. "Ah! I'm fine n/n chan! Let's just head to the gate!" I look closer at his tan face, noticing a look of panic in his sky blue eyes.

"Okay... Well speaking of the gate, the last one there is Naruto!" I shouted already running down the path.

"What the?! Hey!!!" I hear Naru shouted, running after me.

Few seconds later, we both hear the rest of the group running after us while I was busy laughing my head off. In the end, I won by a landslide.

I breathe heavily, "I won Naru... In your face."

Naru is panting just as heavily, "Yeah yeah."

Then I turn around to the gatekeepers, seeing them sweat drop towards our friendly race.
