Ch. 21: The Number One Hyperactive, Knucklehead Ninja Joins the Fight

3rd POV

Everything went silent after Naruto's announcement. Y/n is still trying to heal Sasuke's wounds as much as she can while Haku is distracted.

"Ha! Now that I'm here, everything will be alright."

Sakura looks at Naruto, overjoyed that he showed up. "Naruto!"

"Ya know how in stories, the hero usually shows up at the last minute and then kicks butt? Well that's what I'm gonna do, right now believe it!" Naruto emphasizes more by pointing his finger.

"Ugh, this brat again." Zabuza said distastefully.

'Shut up Naruto.' Sasuke thought irritatedly.

'*Sighs* What an idiot, if he'd have stayed hidden, he could've been so much more effective.' Kakashi felt disappointed about Naruto's reckless choice.

'That boy...' Haku recalls his last meeting with the blonde in the woods earlier.

"All right! You're history! Shadow Clone Jutsu!" Naruto shouted, giving away his move.

Zabuza and Kakashi widen their eyes. Then, Zabuza quickly throws shurikens towards Naruto.

"No!" Kakashi yelled out in horror. Naruto pauses his jutsu in shock. "Naruto, move!"

Before the four shurikens reach Naruto, Haku manages to throw his needles at them, blocking the attack. Everyone gasps in shock.

"They didn't get him." Sakura pointed out in awe.

"The weapons canceled each other out, amazing. Now that's what I call lucky, I think." Tazuna said equally in awe.

Sakura clenches her fists, "What are you doing Naruto?! Are you crazy?!"

"This is a battle not a talent show. Don't let your opponents see your jutsu!" Kakashi scolded him making Naruto feel dumb. "The shinobi's art is deception. Always keep the enemy guessing. Even when executing a single jutsu, one must distract their opponent's attention. Catch them off balance and outmaneuver them. You just turned yourself into a human target when you enter a battle like that."

Naruto screams out in terror now in understanding. "Ah! I'm sorry! I was just trying to rescue everybody!" He cried out with both hands on his head.

"But, there's another mystery here." Kakashi whispered staring at Haku.

'Him!' Sasuke thought with hatred.

"Sasuke, you think you can move now?" Y/n whispered, not letting Haku hear them.

Sasuke moves his limbs carefully, feeling less pain than before. He sits up quietly while nodding to her in gratitude.

"Haku, what are you doing?" Zabuza angrily asked him.

"Zabuza, this boy... Let me fight him, my own way. Please."

"Bring it on!" Naruto exclaimed loudly, getting pumped up.

This time, Haku gets into his stance, ready to fight Naruto. One on one.

"Hmph, so you want me to leave this to you. Is that it, Haku?" Zabuza questioned him, already knowing what his motives are. "As usual, you're too soft."

Haku bows his head and says, "Forgive me."

Your POV

As I am kneeling next to Sasuke, I look from Zabuza to Haku in uncertainty.

'Even though he did just cut him up with needles, it still does look excruciatingly painful. I just hope I can be able to block out most of his attacks.'
