Ch. 36: Naruto's Counterattack: Never Give In!

3rd POV

"Forget it. I know it's you. You made it." Sakura pointed out.

Haku looks at y/n in relief that she made it back without a scratch. The grass ninja who has her body wrapped around the tree branch, side glances at the duo.

Sasuke instantly shouts, "Naruto, y/n, get out of here! What are you thinking?! You don't know what you're up against. Hurry! Go now, while you still can!"

"So Naruto, you managed to escape from my friend. Well done. And it looks like you're finally here, y/n." She gives them a mischievous smirk.

Y/n shivers internally from her eerie voice.

Naruto crosses his arms in thought. 'Hm, I get it. So that wasn't just any old random giant snake attack. The snake was sent by her, or it, or whatever this demon is.'

The grass ninja lifts her head and stares right at them.

Sasuke grits his teeth. 'They don't get it. They don't know what they're dealing with. What do I do?'

"Okay, okay, I don't know what's going on here. But you've been picking on my friends, and I don't like that. So you'd just better slither on back into your hole, Snake Lady, before I make a pair of shoes out of you!" Naruto points at her.

The Uchiha watches in disbelief. 'Huh?! Little idiot! He's just going to get all five of us killed. I've got to do something, but what?'

On the other side, Sakura watches her crush in dismay. 'Sasuke...'

'We have to get away from him.' Y/n thought determinedly.

Sasuke glances at the older ninja, feeling distraught. 'It's no use. There's only one way.' He deactivates his Sharingan with a plan in mind. "You can have it."

She turns to him questionably. "Hm?"

Naruto blinks in surprise. Everyone watches Sasuke, who is reaching inside his pouch and taking out the white scroll.

"The scroll, right? That's what you want. All right then. Take it and leave us in peace."

Everyone gasps in shock while the lady's smile widens even more.

Naruto points at his teammate. "Wha, Sasuke! Are you crazy or what? We're gonna just hand the scroll over to the enemy? No way! What's wrong with you?!"

"I agree with him, you loon!" Y/n added.

The raven haired boy snaps his head up to them with a glare. "Shut up, and stay out of it!"

"What?!" Naruto growls.

Y/n glares right back at him. "You better watch it boy!" She quickly turns her head to the blonde and whispers out to him. "Naru, I have a plan."

"Huh?" He comes closer to her, hearing what she has to say.

The creepy lady lifts herself up more, putting one hand on the bark and the other on her waist. "Very wise, very sensible. Sometimes the helpless prey, if they are to save their own skins, realize that their only hope is to distract the predator with something even more precious." She finished off with a hiss.

Both Sasuke and the grass ninja have a stare down.

"Take it." Sasuke throws the scroll towards her.

In slow motion, Naruto and y/n watches with panic stricken on their faces. As the scroll comes closer to her hand, Naruto and y/n zoom in just in time. Naruto grabs the scroll while y/n slaps Sasuke on the face. The raven haired boy was stunned to the very least as Naruto landed near them.
