3rd POV
The crowd is cheering excessively towards the genin kids down below. Above them all, the third Hokage is sitting on his chair with a Chunin right next to him. The Chunin has brown spiky hair with large scarring from his nose bridge all the way to his left cheek.
"No sign of Sasuke yet?" Sarutobi asked him.
"No, a team of Anbu Black Ops are searching for him; but so far, they've found nothing." The Chunin cups his hand near his mouth and whispers, "He may already be in Orochimaru's hands. In which case of course, we may never find him."
Sarutobi closes his eyes. "I understand." Then, he perks up from seeing three people arriving. "Aha, you made it. Welcome, Lord Kazekage."
The Kazekage of the Sand Village is wearing a similar robe as the Leaf Hokage except his is blue, and half of his face is covered. The only thing you can see is his cold stoic eyes. Behind him are two of his security ninjas: one on the left has creepy looking makeup around his eyes and mouth and the one on the right is just very tall and muscular. On the ground level, the three sand siblings all look up to their leader/ father. Gaara suddenly growls under his breath and gives a deathly glare up to his father who is taking his seat next to the third Hokage.
Y/n notices the dark aura coming from her dear friend. 'Oh no, here we go.'
"You must be weary having come all this way." He turns to the sand leader with a knowing smile.
"Not at all, I'm only glad that for your sake the arena is here in the Leaf Village. As strong as you are, I'm sure a long journey would have proven difficult for you at your age. Isn't it about time you decided who will succeed you Kazekage?"
The third Hokage finds this funny and laughs out loud heartily. "You act as if I were an old man, there's plenty of life left in me." He gets up with a chuckle. "No, I plan on staying here for some time to come." He strides over to the railings, aware of the other man's narrowed eyes on him. "Now then, it's time for the final rounds to begin."
He moves his gaze to the people and loudly announces, "Welcome all, and our deepest thanks for coming here to the Village Hidden in the Leaves for this year's Chunin Selection. We have come to the final competition between the eleven candidates who made it through the preliminaries. We ask that no one leaves until all the matches have been completed. Now everyone enjoy."
The watchers all cheer excitedly for his speech and can't wait for the competition to begin.
"You said eleven candidates, aren't you missing one?" Kazakage Rasa cunningly asked.
Sarutobi just kept facing the candidates in silence.
Speaking of the candidates...
Genma, who has a senbon needle in his mouth informs the teens, "Oh, there's one more thing before we get started." He burrows his hand in his green vest and digs out a piece of paper. "Look it over."
Y/n, Naruto, and Shikamaru gasp while Temari gives a mild bored stare. On the paper it says:
•Naruto Uzumaki & Neji Hyuga
•f/n l/n & Kaen Hanako
•Gaara & Sasuke Uchiha
•Kankuro & Shino Aburame
•Temari & Shikamaru Nara
•Haku
"There's been a slight change in the match-ups. But now it's set, so everyone take one last look at who you'll be facing." Genma kept a cool gaze on the candidates as he held onto the paper a bit longer.
Y/n gazes closer at her opponent's name and takes a glimpse at the maroon haired kunoichi who looks so calm. 'That might be her, I've never seen her before.'
