"The new Lake kid is really hot," a voice gushed loudly next to our lunch table. This is literally the sixth time I've heard people say Luke's name in a different form, aren't they used to him already? Rolling my eyes, I took a look at my brother. He looks like demented giraffe to me. Haha, Lake.

"This new kid is getting more attention than me," Sam whined, rolling his eyes. "He can't be that hot. Who would replace some newbie with this?" the arrogant idiot smirked, flexing his muscles and gesturing down to his toned body. He isn't wrong but it's not like I would ever give him a compliment on his appearance. His ego is big enough as it is.

It was my turn to roll his eyes. "They're just talking about my brother dude, chill out. I don't think their pea-sized brains understand that his name is Luke and it's been over a week."

"No," he disagreed, frowning. "There's literally a new boy in this school. I already hate him."

"He's really cute," Lena piped in, looking like she's in heaven. "He has dark hair and a nice tan, I saw him in the hallway. Girls are already clinging on to him but he looks uncomfortable so we know that he's not a player." A hot guy who's not a player... that's rare.

"I'm going to agree with Lena here," Marcie added, earning a scowl from Liam. "He's not that bad looking and a player. Are you interested Lauren?" she asked, resting her chin on her palm. Her blonde hair is going to take a while to get used to. I see Liam visibly sigh, kissing Marce on the cheek. She smiled back lovingly at him, quickly pecking his lips. That's so adorable.

"I want to see this guy," I pouted, thinking about my ex. He could have a whole fake caring facade and end up cheating. What the hell, I'm not even dating this guy. Hell, I don't even know who he is, why am I thinking about dating him?

"Lauren Anderson please report to the principal's office," the speaker spoke loudly. The cafeteria went quiet and everyone's eyes turned towards me, giving me their undivided attention. Look away please.

Awkwardly walking away from the cafe, I jogged over to the principal's office, crossing my fingers. I think they figured out who sprayed the building. Act cool, Lauren. Deny, deny, deny.

"Hello Lauren," the principal greeted me. She brought an unfamiliar face in front of me. The guy was wearing a white oversized jacket and a plain white shirt which hugged his muscles with jeans and converse. His dark hair was messed up and his olive skin was tinted with a little pink. New kid, approved.

"Hi I'm Blake Collins," he said, smiling at me. I returned the smile, shaking his warm hand. His grip was a little firmer than Sam's but warm nevertheless. Why was I thinking about Sam again?

"Why am I here?" I asked the principal, feeling confused. The new kid also looked at the principal. I'm guessing he doesn't know why I'm here either. The principal isn't going to expel me in front of the new kid is she?

"You are going to be showing Blake around," she explained, smiling at the sight of him and I. Please don't. "Since you're new and he's new, I think you are the best person to help him fit in. Your brother doesn't have any classes with him. Blake will be a much better influence on you than that Sam kid."

"Well then let's go," I said, blowing out a sigh and ignoring the latter. I have the right to hang out with whoever I want so Mrs. Riverdale High can go fuck herself. Blake followed me out the door, awkwardly placing his hands in his pockets.

"I'm guessing you joined the football team," I said, hoping to strike a conversation, not really knowing what to say. Nena should have gotten this job, not me. I can't talk to new people comfortably to save my life.

"I joined this morning," he explained. "I was on the team back in California. It sure is a lot colder out here, I've never seen snow before." He gestured outside, where there was light snow. His tanned skin could explain how hot it was in California.
