"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" we all yelled as Liam came into the restaurant. He obviously knew that we were coming to a restaurant but what he didn't know was that Riley managed to book this place all to ourselves and have the tables rearranged so that it was one big giant table. It's the puppy dog face, I tell you.
He jumped back in surprise and another older guy that looked like him rolled his eyes but had a smile on his face anyway. Yes, he was attractive but he looked like Liam and another guy had my heart anyway. "Oh wow, thanks guys," he grinned, looking at the presents in the corner. I got him new shoes and a t-shirt after asking Marcie what size he was. I swear all the boys in this room had big feet. I also got him something else as a joke and hoped that he wouldn't open it in front of the adults. "Where is everyone?"
"The restaurant is ours until midnight," Riley smirked, cracking her knuckles. He frowned and looked like he was about to say something but she cut him off. "You're going to spend four hours not worrying about anything so sit down and shut up."
He raised his arms in surrender as a bunch of us burst out laughing and took a seat. His parents, Chase's parents, James, Nana, Marcie's parents, and a few other of his aunts and uncles took their seats on one corner of the table and started to chat with each other, occasionally agreeing or laughing. I set my crutches under the table and was seated next to Marcie and Sam. Liam was sitting next to Marcie and had a bunch of his cousins sitting next to him. Next to Sam was Luke so he couldn't do anything that his dirty mind came up with and Trent and a bunch of others along with the younger kids were sitting near one corner. Not a single chair was empty.
"How's it like to be eighteen?" Nena asked, smoothing out her dark straight hair. It was a pretty fancy restaurant so she wore a black turtleneck sweater with a black and white shirt along with heels, looking absolutely stunning. Marcie was forced into a black sleeveless dress that went past her knees and also wore heels, it really suited her though. Me? I was in a short-sleeved white shirt and a black and white skirt with an odd pattern. I really didn't mind the whole dark theme for us though.
The guys on the other hand were lucky with a simple button up shirt and jeans. Most of them, including Liam, got away with sneakers. Lucky bastards. Women are always expected to wear too much.
"You look beautiful," Sam whispered in my ear, lightly squeezing my knee when Luke wasn't facing us. My cheeks burned and I was aware that I wasn't wearing much makeup. According to Nena, lip and eye makeup wasn't a lot. I thought it was.
"You look okay too," I whispered back, tempted to give him a quick kiss. There were too many adults and kids around and this party was supposed to be PG. PG as it could get with horny teenagers around.
"I look sexy," he scoffed. Do you get my point now? I patted him on the arm and rolled my eyes with a small smile, then squeezed his hand. I loved how it engulfed my own and I also loved how I loved him and he loved me back.
"Fudge," Liam cursed, attracting attention from most of the teenagers around him.
"What?" Chase asked, looking back as if he was waiting for the waiters and waitresses to arrive so that he could eat the whole place down.
"I can't believe it," he muttered. Knowing him, it was probably something stupid. "I forgot to do the English essay."
"Good luck bro, that's worth fifty points," my brother snorted, unlocking his phone to show him the assignment. He clearly did it and grinned.
"Shit," he cursed under his breath, abruptly standing up. "I really need to go home and-"
"What did I tell you about worrying?" Riley asked, glaring at him. He didn't speak and shrunk under her gaze, quietly sitting back in his chair. The adults stopped staring and went back to their conversation. "Good boy."
