The doorbell suddenly rang and interrupted Sam's and mine's make out session. "Doesn't his work end at six?" Sam groaned as I got off of him. Luke and Bethany had after school clubs today and this was his sixth time distracting me from that English essay Liam said he didn't do yesterday, not that I minded.
"It's probably Nana and Drew," I said, trying to pull him off of the bed. He didn't move an inch.
"They're coming back at eight," he said, reminding me that they were at the park. Drew somehow managed to keep her energy levels high even at night.
"Then it's one of our friends," I shrugged, gesturing for him to get up. The idiot didn't get uo.
"Liam and Marcie have student council, Chase has detention, Nena has this SAT practice class, and Luke has some club meeting," he sighed, pulling me back so that I was straddling him. "How about we ignore whoever is down there and continue where we left off."
"No," I said, getting off of him and reaching for my crutches. I hoped that it was someone important. Beside me, he groaned and followed me down the stairs anyway, not bothering to fix his messy hair and remove the lip gloss on his lips. Some of it was on his neck too.
I rolled my eyes but knew that my lips were swollen and that my cheeks were flushed. Whatever, it's not like our thing was a secret anyways.
Sam opened the door and I saw two people that I did not expect to see. I really should have listened to him and ignored the doorbell.
"Now do you wish you listened to me?" Sam asked with a smirk, raising an eyebrow at his mother and that red head she-devil.
"Yup," I groaned. I couldn't really tell his mother to get out and wished that she would make an effort like James but I didn't have to let Katherine inside. It looked like it was going to rain so I let them inside and they sat on the couch, not removing their heels. I wanted to point out that I was taller than them in heels but restrained myself.
"What are you doing here?" Sam bluntly asked, rolling his eyes at them. He took a seat on another couch and laid out his legs on the seat, making me in between them. I didn't have to look back to know how smug he looked at their fuming faces.
"So you still live in my house," Elisa said, her voice dripping with displeasure.
"It's Nana's house, not yours," Sam shrugged, wrapping an arm around my waist to press me completely against him and he played with my hair to not give them any importance.
"Don't speak to your mother like that," she snapped. We both scoffed at the same time and rolled our eyes.
"You're not my mom," he blankly said, twirling my hair around his long fingers. It could be a shampoo commercial if my hair was shinier.
"I gave birth to you," she pointed out, trying to keep her business face on. "Therefore, I am your mother."
"Siri, what's the definition of a mother?!" he yelled out. I wasn't aware that there was a Siri speaker in the room but it turns out that there was.
"A mother is someone who brings up their child with care and affection," Siri answered, making Sam snicker. I squeezed one of his hands and had the need to defend him.
"Siri's never wrong," I shrugged, noticing how she clenched her fists. Oh please, the most she could do was call her lawyer, if she remembered their number.
"I see you didn't change," Katherine huffed, looking at me from the head to my toes. I was in one of Sam's old shirts since they were comfortable and a pair of basketball shorts with only lip gloss and eyeliner on. Most of the lip gloss moved to Sam's lips anyway.
