Eddy squinted at their little hotel room as he kicked his shoes off by the door. It looked exactly the same as they had left it this morning. Jeez, had they really only been here for a day? It felt like he had packed about fifty years into this one day and he was bone-tired. It didn't matter, though. Because he was here, now, and Brett was here, now, and they were completely alone.

"So." Brett said softly beside him as he walked into the room on stockinged feet and put his violin case next to Eddy's. "Straight to bed, I guess?"
Eddy nodded. Maybe there had been so many words outside in the dark that he had used them all up, or something? He found that he had nothing at all to say now. He pulled off his hoody, threw it on the back of one of the chairs and plodded into the bathroom.
He had just started brushing his teeth when Brett came in in his bed clothes and stood by his side. He smiled sweetly at Eddy as he squirted toothpaste on his own toothbrush. Eddy leaned his head against Brett's for a moment in quiet response. He blinked at their reflection in the mirror. He seemed to have aged, somehow, today. He definitely looked different than he had before. More mature, maybe? He shrugged as he put his things back in his sponge bag and walked out to give Brett some space.

No matter how much he wanted those kisses Brett had promised him, he couldn't help how sleepy he was and he was barely awake by the time his boyfriend slid into the place next to him in the smallish bed. Eddy still didn't speak, but he did put his head on its spot on Brett's chest. Brett's arm was around his back and he stroked him quietly.
"I love you, Eddy." Brett murmured against his hair.
He raised his head sleepily and gave Brett one soft, lingering kiss.
"I love you too."

It was still pretty early in the morning when he eyed that reflection in the mirror again, but this time in a different light. Because right. That would just about do for all this drama, and that would certainly do for all this making Brett worry about him. I mean, come on! He was in Perth, with Brett, where he had wanted to be for months, he only had one more full day here and he should fucking well make the most of it. And he had to say... he did feel better. Lighter, somehow. Like a muscle that had been tense for the longest time had relaxed at last. Maybe it was because he had a plan? Or because the evening had been so nice? He eyed himself in the mirror with hardening resolve, just as he heard a C major scale coming from the room. He nodded once at his reflection, stepped out of the bathroom and closed the distance between him and Brett in just a couple of quick steps.
"So, good morning." he said softly. Brett turned around, his eyes glowing warmly the second he saw him.
"Hi. You feeling better?"
Eddy nodded. "I'm fine. Looking forward to today!"
He calmly took the violin out of Brett's hands and put it down in its case. Brett's eyebrows raised just ever so slightly, but he didn't say anything as he watched Eddy put the bow on the little table and turn around.
"So, you said you'd kiss me, last night, and I seem to have whimped out and fallen asleep."
Brett grinned. "There's nothing whimpy about..."
He never got to finish his sentence, because Eddy's lips were already on his. He backed him into the wall and pressed his weight into him, his hands clawing in Brett's hair, his mouth claiming Brett's. Brett let out the softest, startled grunt but then his hands were on Eddy's back and his tongue was daring him to go on, to take more, to give more, to do more.

"Whoa." Brett whispered when they came up for air at last. "That... that's not a bad start to the day."
Eddy's cheek was against Brett's and he could feel the light stubble. Brett had not shaven since he had been here.
"I agree. We should do as much of this as we can while we're here."
Brett grinned. "And I'll be so relaxed that I'll play Meditation tonight instead of the Tchaik?"
Eddy stood back, cocked his head and eyed him amusedly.
"Yeah. As if anything could ever keep you from playing well, hey?"
He stepped away and turned around to check that all of his stuff was ready to go.
"We should probably warm up quickly and then head out, get something to eat and head over to the venue, right?"
"Well," Brett said in Eddy's favourite deadpane tone, "if you recall I was in fact just warming up when someone came and kissed me until I forgot how to shift."
Eddy grinned as he grabbed his own violin case and put it on the bed. Oh, how wonderful it was to banter with Brett again, to just be free like this, joking around, enjoying life. He hadn't realised before how little of that he had had, recently. He took out his violin and his shoulder rest, turned around again and quickly pecked Brett on the cheek.
"Right. C major, you said? Wanna see who can be most in tune?"
