# The Full White Moon 🐺

The full white moon was getting closer.

And that wasn't good.

Dad looked at all of us.

"This isn't good."

Everyone went quiet.

"We'll have to keep her inside and help her control it."

I looked at him.

"Who?"

Dad's eyes moved toward me.

"Jade."

My stomach dropped.

"What do you mean?"

"Tonight, you won't completely be the Jade we know."

I stared at him.

"What?"

"Your wolf is going to become much stronger."

Alex stepped closer.

"She'll be wild."

Dad nodded.

"She'll want to run. She'll want to hunt. She may even want to kill."

I felt my stomach twist.

"No..."

I looked down at my paws.

"That isn't me."

"I know," Dad said.

"The Jade we know doesn't want to hurt anyone. But tonight, your wolf won't think the way you do."

I swallowed hard.

"So I'll still be in there?"

Dad nodded.

"But you may not know that you're fully in wolf form."

That scared me more than anything.

I didn't want to lose myself.

I didn't want to wake up and find out I'd hurt someone.

I looked at Alex.

"What if I hurt you?"

"You won't," he said.

"You don't know that."

I could feel my eyes starting to burn.

"What if I can't control it?"

Alex came closer.

"Then we'll help you."

I looked away.

I wanted to believe him.

I really did.

But there was something inside me that felt different already.

Like my wolf was awake.

Listening.

Waiting.

Lunar suddenly spoke.

"If she's a full wolf..."

Everyone looked at her.

"Does she shift more?"

She looked at Dad.

"More fur? More claws?"

Alex shook his head.

"I don't think she does."

"She does," Dad said.

Everyone looked at him.

"When?"
