Chapter Thrity two

# Ace Is Pain — Part 2

After I said that, I suddenly felt the pain again.

"OW!" I screamed.

They all looked at me.

"Oh no..." Dad said. "It's a full moon. I forgot."

"Alex!" I yelled.

I fell to the ground again, grabbing myself as another wave of pain tore through me.

"AAAAHH!"

My dad rushed over to me.

"Jade, you're okay. Look at me."

I started crying.

"Dad, I can't... I fucking can't. It hurts!"

"I know it does, but you can't stop it yet."

Everyone looked at him, completely confused.

"What?" Alex asked.

"What do you mean she can't stop it?" Leanna asked.

"She's supposed to control it," Alex said. "Not keep changing."

"Not yet," Dad answered firmly. "She's still in the first stage. She doesn't have control yet. I know what I'm doing, and I'll help her. I understand you were told something different, but you should never try to force control during your first stage. It can cause extreme pain."

They all went quiet.

Then they started realizing he was right.

Some of them had tried controlling their transformations too early.

And they remembered exactly how bad it had hurt.

"So I'll have to keep turning?" I cried.

"I can't do this!"

I tried to push myself up, but the second I moved, the pain became worse.

"No! Stop!"

I collapsed again.

Alex came closer.

"Jade, you'll be okay. Feel her."

"I can't!"

My voice cracked.

"It fucking hurts!"

I cried harder as another wave hit me.

Then my teeth started changing.

"AAAAAAGH!"

I screamed as the pain ripped through my jaw.

"Jade," Alex said. "Let her come out. You'll be fine."

I squeezed my eyes shut.

Then I felt it.

The hair.

My body changed again.

My eyes opened.

They were no longer the same.

They had changed to a light, icy blue.

"Wow," Leanna whispered. "She's doing it."

I stopped fighting.

Instead, I let her take over.

I felt my ears change.

Then my tail.

My body shifted.

And finally—

It was over.

I was my wolf.
