Chapter Eighteen

When I walked into Maya's house, everyone was already there.
"Hey!" Lilly called.
"Glad you made it."
I smiled and sat down beside Alex.
"So..." I laughed.
"What do you guys usually do?"
Alex shrugged.
"We mostly hang out."
"And get to know each other better."
"Sounds good to me."
"I'll be right back," Alex said. "I'm grabbing something to eat."
"I'll come with you," Leanna said.
The two of them disappeared into the kitchen.
As soon as they were out of the room, Leanna looked toward the window.
"Alex..."
"It's almost dark."
He looked outside.
The sun was disappearing behind the trees.
Then he saw it.
The full moon.
His face went pale.
"No..."
"It can't be tonight."
Leanna's eyes widened.
"We have to tell her."
Before either of them could move, they heard me cry out from the living room.
"Ah!"
My head suddenly pounded.
Everything around me became blurry.
I grabbed my head.
"It hurts..."
Alex and Leanna ran back into the room.
"Jade?"
I fell to my knees.
"Something's wrong!"
My whole body felt like it was on fire.
"It hurts!"
Alex looked at Maya.
"It's happening."
"So soon?"
"We don't have a choice."
He carefully lifted me into his arms.
"What are you doing?" I cried.
"I'm scared!"
He carried me outside to a strong wooden safety room the pack used for first transformations.
He gently set me inside before closing the heavy door.
"What? No Alex!" What the fuck are you doing?
"Let me out!" This isn't funny!" What the actual hell is going on but the pain was so hard. I couldn't really talk anymore.
He knelt outside the door.
"Jade..."
"I need you to listen to me."
"You aren't sick."
"What?"do you mean I'm not sick. I'm in pain everywhere. Doesn't that make a point I'm not feeling good.
"You're a werewolf."
I stared at him.
"No..." They aren't real!" Are you seriously getting on this topic again but the pain was so agonizing I flinched from the pain.
"They are."
"And tonight..."
"You're becoming one."
Another wave of pain rushed through my body.
I screamed.
"Please!"
"Make it stop!"
"I can't."
His voice was calm.
"But you can get through it."
"Don't fight it."
"Let your wolf find you."
I closed my eyes.
The pain became unbearable.
Then...
Everything went quiet.
When I opened my eyes...
I wasn't in the room anymore.
I was standing in a beautiful forest under a glowing full moon.
A howl echoed through the trees. And that part
Scared the freaking shit out of me.
A large white wolf stepped out from the shadows. I jumped when it entered into the light.
Her fur shimmered with streaks of silver and light blue
Her bright blue eyes locked onto mine.
I couldn't look away.
"Who are you?" I whispered.
She smiled.
"I'm you."
"I'm your wolf."you're my what?
She stepped closer.
"Don't be afraid."
"This will hurt."
"But once you stop fighting..."
"You'll finally be free."
I took a shaky breath.
Are you saying that I trust you? I don't even know what's going on then she faded.
The pain returned.
Every bone in my body shifted.
I cried out.
Then...
It stopped.
I felt lighter.
Stronger.
Faster.
I looked down.
White fur covered my body.
Blue streaks ran along my back.
I lifted my head and let out my first howl holy shit did that come out of me. beneath the full moon.
Back outside, everyone froze.
Alex smiled.
"She did it."
Maya's eyes filled with tears.
"She's beautiful."
Alex slowly opened the door.
I stepped outside.
Nobody moved.
I simply looked at them with my icy blue eyes.
"Her eyes..." Lilly whispered.
"They're beautiful."
"I've never seen eyes that color before."
I slowly walked toward Maya.
She reached out carefully.
I rested my head against her hand.
She smiled.
"Aww..."
Alex opened the gate leading into the forest.
"Go."
"Feel the wind."
"Run."
Without another thought...
I sprinted into the trees.
The wind rushed through my fur.
For the first time in my life...
I felt completely free. It's only thoughts. We're going through my head. I'm on force. I'm a wolf werewolves are real what in the actual heck this kept repeating in my head over and over again,
Then Maya  spoke as she seen them go by Alex might have found his mate even a new wolf. His mum was right after all.

but then soon I seen Alex
Waiting for me in the moonlit forest.
