# Books All in One
As I watched Alex leave for school, I wished more than anything that I could go with him.
I wanted to be normal.
I wanted to get dressed, grab my bag, walk out the door, and pretend last night had never happened.
But I couldn't.
I was stuck here because of my wolf.
I looked down at myself.
There was still blood on my fur.
Tears were still running down my face.
I felt exhausted.
Broken.
But I kept telling myself the same thing.
*I'll be me again.*
I just didn't know when.
How long was I going to be like this?
Would my wolf start coming out more?
Would she want to run outside?
Would she want to hunt?
Would I still be in control?
Or would I slowly become someone—or something—I didn't recognize?
I had so many questions.
And nobody was here to answer them.
I was completely alone downstairs.
Dad had gone out to get more things to help with my scars, something that would help cover them and make them heal faster.
So I stayed on the bed they had made for me.
I tried to get comfortable.
It didn't work.
Everything hurt.
Every time I moved, the pain reminded me of what had happened.
Then I heard the front door open upstairs.
*Dad?*
I waited.
Then I heard bags being dropped.
Something hit the floor.
Then another thing.
"Dad?"
No answer.
I heard footsteps.
Slowly coming closer.
The door to the room opened.
I tried to get up.
Pain shot through my body.
"Ah..."
I couldn't move.
I had no choice.
I had to face whoever was standing there.
A girl walked into the room.
She looked around nervously.
Then she saw me.
"Oh, hi there, dog."
She smiled a little.
She didn't seem scared of me.
She looked at my fur.
Then she noticed the blue.
"I see your owners like blue."
She probably thought my fur had been dyed.
