"Ace....buddy,wake up. "I groaned and pulled the blanket over my head "it's too early," I mumbled a hand gently rubbed my shoulder. "Come on sweetheart. We have to get ready." I blinked my eyes open. Mom was sitting on the edge of my bed, already dressed she smiled, but it didn't quite reach her eyes. "What time is it?" I asked, rubbing my face "A little after eight. " I frowned but it's summer " I know "
"So why am I awake?"
She let out a small laugh. Because we're taking a little trip
"A trip? I sat up so fast my blanket slid onto the floor.
"Really?" She nodded once. " I need you to pack a bag, okay? Just an enough clothes for you to take my excitement faded just a little?
" is Jade coming?" "Of course" where are we going? Mom paused " to your dads for a bit" I stared at her" dads? She nodded once. We'll talk more later right now I just need you to get packed I climbed out of bed and stretched.
" can I bring wolfie?" I pick up my old stuffed wolf from the pillow.
" she smiled for real this time " I think Wolfe would like that
" good" I hugged the stuffed animal under one arm and opened my dresser.
A couple of T-shirts jeans sweatpants.
My favourite blue hoodie extra socks. I stuffed everything into my suitcase until it barely zipped shut when I walked into the hallway I stared down the stairs but stopped halfway down and seen mom standing at the front door and looking out the window like she was worried or something or scared. She didn't notice I was looking, but she definitely looked scared. Then she turned around and noticed me. She took a breath you all packed she asked I nodded. She smiled at me. I grabbed Wolfie. Tighter.
"I suddenly wished we weren't leaving."
