Rose Malfoy

McGonagall had passed out all of the new schedules for this year. I was hoping that I had most of my classes with Scarlett or Pansy or even my brother. Nope. I had at least one class with each. The rest... I had them with Blaise.

Don't get me wrong. I'd be able to see him all the time and be somewhat near him, but that would mean he would most likely come to me if he needed help. Or if we had a project, he would pick me since I'm the only Hufflepuff most of the Slytherins accept and I'm his friend.

It sucks.

"Ask him to study later," Scarlett says.

"Yeah! Get some alone time with him. Maybe what happened this summer will happen again" Pansy wiggled her eyebrows.

"No. Draco wouldn't allow it. His best friend and sister? Definitely not." I shake my head as we walk to class. Thankfully, our classes were down the hall from each other.

"He wouldn't have to know," Scarlett says in a sing-song voice as Pansy laughs.

"Whatever" I roll my eyes, waving to them as I walked into my class.

Everyone was standing at the front of the class as Slughorn walked around, pointing at stools and saying names.

A few students were already sitting down, most with their partners. A few stragglers were running into the class, just like me.

"Right. Miss. Malfoy, you weren't here when I got to your name but that's okay because I like to start early. You're seated next to Mr. Zabini" Slughorn says, pointing across the room, then continuing with seating students.

Great. Just what I needed.

I walked over to Blaise and sat next to him, not looking at him once. Slughorn started the lesson and for most of it, I zoned out.

"Now this class was just a little introduction, but tomorrow we are getting into the actual lesson. Now, remember, make friends with your partners. You won't get new ones until after Christmas break. Class dismissed" I come back to reality at his dismissal and look over to Blaise who has a smug smirk on his features.

"Happy that we know each other then" Blaise smiles at me.

"Yeah. Totally" I smile back at him, picking up my bag and standing up.

"You're still changing, aren't you?" He sighs, following my motion.

"Yep. Change is good" I start to walk out, hearing him follow me.

All I can think about is how I need to get to Charms now. I need to lose Blaise and get to class.

"If you say so" He matches my speed as I remember that we have every class together.

I avoided Blaise at all costs. Luckily, the only class that we had to really interact in was potions and defense against the dark arts. That was the class that our whole group was in.

I sat with Scarlett of course. Draco took his chance and sat with Astoria as Blaise and Pansy sat together.

Sneaking into the Slytherin dorms right after dinner was nothing new. The group has been sneaking me in since first year.

"Still sneaking in, Malfoy?" Theodore Nott's voice is heard as I enter the Slytherin common room with Draco next to me.

"Fuck off, Nott" He snarls.

"With your sister? I'd love to" Nott responds, earning a gag from me and a snarky comment from my brother.

"Where to?" I ask Draco, pointing from the girls' dorms and boys' dorms.

"Blaise's" He starts to walk and gulp.

Following Draco to his best friend's dorm and my crush's dorm, my heart starts to beat faster, my nerves taking over.

I've been lying to Blaise.

Change isn't what I want.

It's him.

"What's going on with you lately? When we hang out with the group, you're distant. What's up?" Draco stops us, a few doors down from Blaises.

"N- Nothing. Everything is fine"

"Don't lie to me, Rose. I know when something is up. You're my twin for crying out loud. Ya know... Twin intuition" He chuckles "Talk to me"

"You wouldn't like it so I can't tell you." I sigh walking past him and to Blaise's door. "Some other day"

I open the door and the smell of weed fills my nostrils. I plug my nose and walk further into the room, heading to the window.

"Could've opened a window" I pull it up, the September air filling the room.

"And what would be the fun in that, love" I look to Blaise who is sitting on his bed, blunt in between his fingers.

"Hey, no flirting with my sister" Blaise throws his hands up in defense.

A light knock comes and I walk over to open it. Astoria stands there, a shy smile on her face.

"Draco invited me. I hope it's ok-"

"Yes! Yes, that's totally fine. Come in" I tell her and she walks in and takes a seat next to Draco on the little loveseat.

"Great! We have Draco and Astoria together and now just need Rose and Blaise to get together" Scarlett jeers.

I look over to Blaise and see him looking down into his cup, a faint smile on his lips as he swishes his cup in a circle.

He brings his head up, our eyes locking, and tingles run through me.

I know there's a blush on my cheeks and I know that he can see it.

"No. No. No one dates my sister" Draco protests.

"Oh give it a break Draco" Pansy butts in. "It's our seventh year. Let the girl live"

"Thanks, Pansy but I think I can handle myself"

"Pft. Doubt it. You needed our help just to k-"

"Shut the fuck up Scarlett!" I wack her on the back of the head as I walk past her and Pansy and over to Blaise.

The only seating left in the room was on the bed with Blaise. As I sat down, his eyes never left mine.

As our eyes locked, never leaving one another's, my nerves took over me. It was nothing new that was nervous around Blaise. Since I started liking him, I never seem to calm my nerves.

I watched as his eyes glanced down to my lips as he licked his. That's when I looked away, hearing Astoria's voice.

"Okay. So now what?" She asks glancing around the room.

"How was everyone's day?" I ask, hoping that we don't go into another night of truth or dare.

As everyone said their answers, out of my peripheral, I could see Blaise glance at me and bite his lip.

A feeling lit up inside my core that I've only felt a few times but every time it was washed away with the thought that I wasn't with the person that I wanted.

Maybe I've wanted a Blaise longer than I thought?
