Au- human!Roman, kitten!Virgil (Not a romantic thing, btw, V is Ro's pet cat.)
(Maybe longer than usual? Idk. About 500 words.)
Roman walked into his apartment dripping wet. He had to park his car down the street and it was raining cats and dogs out there. No, not cats and dogs. It was raining elephants and giraffes (what am I doing with my life?). He shuts the door behind himself and takes off his socked shoes, and jacket. He sighed as he hung up his jacket.
"Merow." He heard as he walked farther into his apartment. He looked towards where the sound came to see his cat, Virgil, stretching in his laundry basket, full of clean laundry by the way. He rolled his eyes and walked over to the kitten.
"Hi, Virgil," he said, picking up the tiny kitten, who purred rubbing against him. He looked into the basket hoping there wouldn't be too much cat hair on his clean clothes, he was happy there didn't seem to be much. His clothes were mostly light colors compared to the black cat fur.
He walked to the kitchen to find himself something to eat/drink. He set Virgil down then walked over to the fridge. Making purr-ish-meow sounds along the way, the tiny-black-furred kitten jumped onto a box, then a chair, finally the counter. He made his way to counter space close to where Roman was.
Roman decided to make a sandwich and took out the things for his sandwich including cheese, lunch meat, and mayonnaise. Virgil tried to push the mayo jar off the counter because he's a cat as well as spiteful. The keyword being 'tried'. The mayo jar was about the same size as the tiny kitten. Ro chuckled at his kitten's antics. He grabbed bread, a butter knife, and a plate, placing them on the counter next to the other sandwich things.
-time skip-
Roman finished making his sandwich as well as a fruit smoothie he decided he wanted. Virgil was 'very' helpful to him, pushing, or trying to push, different things off the counter. You might be asking 'why didn't Roman just put Virgil on the ground?' Well, he did multiple times, but the spiteful kitten kept finding his way up there. Anyway, Ro grabbed his sandwich and smoothie went to the living room area, putting them on his coffee table, Virgil following him. He put on something from Disney +.
As Roman ate he wondered if he would ever find his Disney prince, not that he was exactly looking for a boyfriend. He was actually taking a break from dating. His last relationship ended pretty badly. After his last breakup was actually when he got Virgil. Getting a cat/kitten wasn't planned. One of his friends' cat had babies who needed homes and when he first met Virgil he fell in love with him.
Speaking of the tiny-black-furred-spiteful kitten he rubbed against Ro, cuddling into him, purring. Roman smiled petting his kitten. He didn't need a prince when he already had his loving kitten.
