(longer than normal over 1000 words.)
"Come on Virge, It's our high school reunion we have to go!" Patton said, trying to persuade his best friend, whom he lived with.
"But Patton, everyone we went to school knows Olivia, not Virgil," Virgil said, cringing slightly when saying his dead name. He transitioned after high school when he moved out of his homophobic parents' house.
"So? Just come with me. Please? It's my class reunion, too."
"Ugh. Fine," Virgil groaned. "You just want to go because you're hoping to see Remus Princeton."
Patton blushed. "Not true. I want to see all our old high school friends."
"You mean your old high school friends. I wasn't very popular. Plus no one, other than you and Emile, from our old high school, knows that I'm trans. I'm not exactly excited to see my old bullies and all the people that called me troublesome."
"People called you troublesome because you were constantly going to the principal's offices."
"That might be true, but I wasn't happy in my body, still not, and I have mental issues."
Patton sighed, "Let's just get ready for the reunion."
"Fine."
"Remember it's semi-formal."
"Right. We'll see what I've got."
