Jimin's POV

My coming to Bangtan was pretty uneventful and quite rushed.
When I got out of the train station it was nighttime. I texted the number that I was told to reach once there and suddenly I was in the back of a car, a man whose face I didn't recognize driving and a girl who I assumed was our age smiling at me through the rear view mirror every now and then.
Upon entering deep into the southern woods and into the traditional lay out of the pack, I was greeted by another two figures.

"Park Jimin, welcome to Bangtan pack."

The tall dark haired wolf whose hand was clasped around mine couldn't be anyone else beside Alpha Jeon. I almost awed at how much resemblance he holds with his son.
The boy beside Alpha Jeon was a young wolf who looked broad and quite as big if not buffer than the Head Alpha.
The moments after my arrival were blurry. I quickly learned that the young alpha was Jackson and that he was also Jungkook's cousin. The girl that brought me from the train station was Lisa and her mate Jennie were the ones who stayed with me the most, showing me around, introducing me to the family— which was bigger than I ever thought a family of wolves could be— until they helped me settle into my room.
The bedroom I was given was in the main house and I don't know how to feel about sleeping in that same room beside Jungkook's old one.
The latter was full of his books and clothes and it was cleaned regularly as if the ravenette was living here still.
Jungkook's mother was a kind, loving woman. As expected from the Luna, she was both very wise and welcoming.
The first real conversation I had about my actual coming here was with her.
Luna Jeon asked me a bit about myself, about Lupus as well as a few discreet questions about her youngest son.
Apparently, the "Jungkook topic" was still a very sensitive one. It was rarely talked about and even if his room seemed well taken care of, his name was barely muttered around.

"They're waiting for you."

As soon as those words left the Luna's mouth, I knew that reality was beginning to set in.
After an entire day spent getting to know my surroundings, resting and updating my pack of my safe arrival, I was finally meeting the reason I came here in the first place.

I was led by Luna Jeon to a nice cabin only a few steps away from where I was staying. The house itself was charming and held that modern vibes to it.

"I'll let you get in yourself. You're okay with that?"

"Yes, thank you."

"You're welcome, darling. If you need anything, just come to the main house and ask for me. Good luck, sweetie."

I smile genuinely at her kindness and nod. Once alone, I pushed the open door wider in order to get in. The first thing I noticed was the lack of decorations. The inside design was minimalist and homey, but it felt empty.
The living room and the kitchen looked like an actual picture from an ikea catalog.
I brushed the feeling of unfamiliarity away and made my way to a corridor where I assumed the rooms are.
The second thing that hit me was the scent. My mate's scent to be precise. However, it was dulled by another more stronger one.
Approaching the slightly ajar door, I move my hand in order to knock and make them aware of my presence even if I was excepted. I didn't get the chance though.

"You can enter, Jimin."

I froze momentarily at the voice and the way my name seemed to roll out perfectly in the foreign and deep southern accent.
Gathering my thoughts, I decide to go for it.

My eyes automatically land on the two figures on the bed.
One of the two, hair a faded garnet color, face pale and eyes closed was laying on the mattress barely moving.
My breath hitched as I observed the figure barely recognizable from the picture I last saw of it.
However, my attention was quickly snatched by the other man. White hair, warm brown eyes and just as pale complexion. Yoongi.

"Hi."

"Hey." I swallowed the lump in my throat at the small fragile smile I was given from my mate. It's been a while since we last saw each other but it feels like the first time all over again.
Although this time, I wasn't blabbering endlessly and Yoongi wasn't laughing in histerics.
We were just staring at one another, mouths shut and thoughts astray.

"I apologize for troubling you into coming all the way here." He finally said.

"S' okay." I muttered, looking away for a second. Truthfully, I didn't think it was troubling at all. My hesitation in the beginning was purely out of lack of knowledge. As soon as Namjoon and Jin told me that I was asked to come to the south by my mate, I knew I was coming one way or another.

"I'm still sorry. I know this situation is very.. complicated."

I hum, not finding it in me to say anything more. My gaze was again fixed on the lifeless looking body on the mattress. It wasn't hard to relate his state with the dark circles underneath Yoongi's eyes. The latter was clearly losing sleep because of his mate's condition.
I couldn't help the sadness enveloping me after that observation. Knowing about the situation was one thing, looking at it with my own bare eyes was another.

"Are you alright?"

I stifle a scoff. Wasn't I supposed to be the one asking this question and not the other way around?

"You really are a Jeon." I find myself saying. Yoongi's concerned expression quickly vanished into a feeble smile.

"I suppose you've met my brother."

"Indeed. I know how selfless and chivalrous he is. And the way he always puts other people before him." I add with a smile.

"How disappointing it must've been knowing we're siblings."

"Not at all. I mean you did make a weird first impression on me but I guess I understand now." I gesture around, making a point.

"I'm sorry about that." He looked down for a small moment. "Things were all over the place back then."

"It's alright." I accept his apology, not wanting to further strike at his guilt. Plus, I do understand the situation indeed. I know it's mustn't have been easy on him.
"How is he?" I ask, changing the subject to more urgent matters.
It clearly was a bad idea, Yoongi's face fell as he looked over at his sleeping mate.

"Unwell." He simply answered.

"What can I do to help?" I make a few steps close to the bed. "May I?" I look at Yoongi for permission, referring to Hoseok's hand that was hanging from the side. His eyes skipped over my face as if gauging my intentions before nodding slowly.
With high precaution, I take the fallen hand into mine, closing my warmer one on the cold limb.
Yoongi only stared at the interaction in silence.
A few moments later, the figure beneath the sheets stirred, eyes slowly opening.

I heard Yoongi make what appeared to be a surprised noise, but my gaze was fixed on the fluttering lashes of the awakening wolf. Cerise strands of hair were falling on the prominent apples of his cheeks and I started noticing even more physical details up close, like the bony structure of his upper body, the long shape of his face, his slim pointy nose and the two nearly faded dots at the base of his neck.
Finishing my inspection, I feel the burning stare of the alpha on me and I finally dare to lock eyes with him.

"Who are you?"
