Yoongi was aimlessly walking around a more secluded area of the Lupus pack, one with only a small garden and a few benches scattered here and there.
The place was empty since the weather wasn't really picnic appropriate.
The sky was a dirty grey color with clouds holding a promise of a very destructive storm coming up.
Nonetheless, the beta was roaming around, letting the cold breeze caress his porcelain pale skin.
His mind was clouded with thoughts of his little brother and the incredibly malchance the younger attracted.
Not only that but the white haired wolf's heart was aching because of his own mate.
Hoseok was still ignoring him no matter how much the older called, texted or asked about him.
He did talk with his father about the Lupus pack and the generosity of its leader not informing them yet about the current situation but not failing to make up a story about Jungkook's happy life in here.
In reality though, the older hasn't seen his brother's happy face once ever since he got here. Maybe when Alpha Namjoon accepted to let him stay as a member of his pack and guarantee his protection.
Sure Jungkook was a gloomy young adult most of the time after his whole mating situation. But the youngster would still laugh and have lots of moments of pure fun and happiness alongside his former pack members and pups, bunny teeth on full display and crinkles of both sides of his doe eyes. Clearly not anymore.

And Hoseok... God Yoongi missed his other half so much. He didn't want to show it, especially not in front of curious Seojoon and Hyunsik who were communicating with their mates almost everyday, but he was hurting.
He knew his mate and himself had a lot of troubles as a couple.
Firstly because Hoseok and Yoongi were enemies before they found out they were mates.
Yes, Yoongi hated his mate's guts for a long time and it had everything to do with the fact that they were simply polar opposites.
Hoseok being the ultra energetic happy pill of the pack whilst Yoongi was the serious son of the Leader, uptight and serious all the damn time.

Which was still the case except the Beta learned the notion of fun and letting loose through his childish mate. And the latter learned to be more responsible and less chaotic being with Yoongi. His sugar.

It could've been amazing and all rainbows and butterflies if Yoongi's responsibility within the pack didn't render him even more serious and overprotective.
An overprotectiveness that drove his mate farther and farther away from him. Because Yoongi tend to forget most of the time that his mate was an alpha.
And it was an alpha's nature to protect their mate and take care of them. Not the other way around. Or work on finding some sort of a common ground. Something the beta never cared to do.

Needless to say, Yoongi missed his mate too much and what made his wolf restless was the feeling of their bond slowly but surely deteriorating.
It drove the beta nearly insane with panic.
With his phone still in hand, he clicked on the familiar number for the twentieth time today only to be met with the voicemail sound.

Well, Yoongi was as much persistent as Hoseok was hot headed and stubborn.

"Fucking shit.."

Cursing under his breath, the white haired Beta threw his phone in aggravation so hard it collapsed a great ten meters away into a pine tree, breaking in hundred tiny pieces.

"Are you okay?"

A small squeaky voice asked from a distance away making the heaving beta turn abruptly. All he wanted was a damn second of piece and quiet for fuck's sake-

What.

The beautiful blonde boy's eyes widened immensely as he gasped.
Both of their wolves crying out desperately the same word.

Mate.

Jimin felt the world around him stop.

This can't be real. No. He didn't have a mate. The white haired fierce wolf with the prettiest feline eyes he's ever seen can't be Jimin's mate.
He has lived his entire his life with certainty that he was destined to be with Taehyung.
Just the thought of his soulmate made him flinch.
I did that. I hurt him.
The incessant feeling of guilt growing only stopped when the white haired beta made a few careful steps towards the anxious and confused blonde.
Once Jimin stared at his amber eyes, a spark of life ignited within him.
Like a weight lifted off his shoulders.
Like an answer to all of his questions.

The state of calmness that had enveloped the young beta was shattered by the giggle of the wolf in front of himself.
A small chuckle that turned into a full blown bursting laugh. A hysterical one.
Jimin could only watch what unfolded before him with furrowed brows.

"This- ah Mother Goddess! This has to be the worst April's fool I've ever experienced."

Jimin couldn't help frown at the hilarious expression on his "mate's" face. What was so funny anyways?

"You must have lost count of the days because we're sure not in April."
The blonde retorted bitterly.
He was well aware of the whirlwind of thoughts that were currently attacking his poor mind, and tried his best to ignore them and focus of the Beta still wheezing in front of him.

"Sorry I just- I seriously can't believe what's going on right now." The white haired made to wipe the last of his tears from the corner of his eyes— yes he was laughing that hard— and turned to face the slightly shorter male.
This time, it was Jimin who walked forward the other with calculating eyes gauging him. Once he was at arm's length, he ever so slowly reached his finger to touch the Beta's whose hand now laid unmoving by his side.
As soon as the contact was made, a panoply of feelings surged through both the wolves in the form of what their kind liked to call tingles.
Well that was more like an understatement for Jimin as he moved his hand away instantly, cradling it on his chest. Fireworks.
It was as if fireworks had went off under their skin the moment their fingers touched.
The white haired only flinched at the touch but made to step backwards a bit.
"Tell me this is a joke." He uttered incredulous. It's like all of the laughter from a minute ago vanished into thin air as understanding seemed to settle in.
Shock. And bit of fear Jimin could detect.
Jimin always prided himself in being able to tell emotions from just one glance at the person's face.
And so he was utterly disappointed at what he saw flashing across his mate's soft features. Only he didn't let anything show on his.

"I know this seems weird, I mean how long have we lived apart not knowing about each other when we were probably just roaming around clueless."
Jimin knew that at this point he was just rambling, wanting from the man a reaction other than whatever he was currently getting. He didn't understand the situation quite well himself but it didn't matter to him in this moment. None of it did. All that mattered is that Jimin found his mate. He found his long lost mate. His chosen one. He did it.
He could almost feel tears of joy forming a silver line in his moon crescent shaped eyes as his wolf was jumping up and down incessantly.

"It's funny how we meet here in the pack grounds because I've never seen you before! What's your name?"

Jimin made to reach out instinctively to the other wolf who flinched away once more. Jimin didn't let the disappointment take over as he smiled charmingly and continued his nonstop rambling.

"I searched you know. I looked around the entire city and the cities around." He made a nervous chuckle, "it's okay though! I prayed the Mood Goddess every night. I knew she gave me Tae because I can't live alone I really can't but then Jungkook came in here and.. wait! Maybe you came with him? He used to live in the south that's why Tae Tae couldn't find him either. Did you?"

Yoongi couldn't move. He also couldn't form words. He was speechless.
See, Yoongi was never the type to just shut up about something. Even when he wouldn't speak it, his mind was always ready for a retort. A smart answer. A solution.
Not now.
What was he supposed to even tell this.. child?
Yoongi's entire being just glitched. Paused.
He can't say anything. He couldn't and he didn't.
He did the only thing he knew how to do in similar situations, something that might as well have costed him his relationship with his actual mate, his Hobi. But he was too far gone to think right.
He walked away.
