Taehyung loved the smell of coffee. Something about the intricate odor of those brown beans once roasted then ground into fine powder was absolutely divine. Especially to a werewolf's heightened sense of scent.
But the moment Taehyung tasted the black liquid still spiraling from being stirred a few seconds ago, he spat it back instantly.

"Disgusting." He stated, pushing the offending liquid away from him.

"Have you tried adding sugar?"

"I put three cubes in there and it's still disgusting."

Jungkook only nodded in understanding, sipping quietly from his steamy cup, a humming sound coming out of his mouth afterward.

"I want tea."

"I'll get it for you, bub."
Jungkook got up from where he was previously enjoying his lovely drink and immediately went to order the younger his favorite: mint tea with a hint of jasmine.

Coming back, he put the drink before his mate who thanked him, and placed a plate and a fork beside the cup as well.

"What's this?"

"Cheesecake."

Taehyung knew what the pastry before him was, obviously, but he felt the need to ask anyway because even though Taehyung may not look it, he was still absolutely unbelieving of the lengths Jungkook went to in order to please him.
A small, wicked part of him wished to sit down and simply watch how far the true blood would go. How much he was willing to give. But another, bigger part of Taehyung didn't want that at all. The part of him that started to admire the true blood in every aspect of his existence wanted to give back. Sadly, he knew no such ways as to do so. The only things Taehyung could think of were sexual in some way or form.
He only knew one way of repaying back the older and as he had come to a decision with himself not long ago, he was more than inclined to share his body with the former.
If Jungkook ever found the sudden change odd or problematic, he never spoke about it before.

"Taehyung, I need to talk to you."

Nevermind. Taehyung had spoken too soon, it appears.
Whenever Jungkook called him by his first name, he knew the older was about to become serious and automatically, Taehyung's mind would block out anything coming after the name call. It was second nature and he really couldn't help it.

"Hm."

"You weren't listening, were you?"

"Sorry." Taehyung simply said, no hint of an apology found anywhere in his tone.

Jungkook wanted to get mad, he was exasperated with his mate's antics after all. Taehyung had a habit of ignoring anything coming from him that wasn't physical and it has the ravenette frustrated beyond belief. But he wasn't about to succumb just yet. He started to understand Taehyung's character—however narrow his understanding was—and he knew that the brunette's change in manners is only superficial. It was only a matter of time, perhaps triggered by a certain action, to get him back to where anger was the only solution he sought.
Now Jungkook didn't want that of course. Jungkook would rather see his mate in a healthy mindset and rationally thinking.
So Jungkook was keeping his own temper in check and took a deep breath.

"I want you to talk to Jimin."

"Why."

Jungkook could help rolling his eyes.

"Because he's your best friend. And he forgave you. And he misses you."

"And you're what? His owl?"

Jungkook narrowed his eyes at the nonchalant, almost mocking way Taehyung was acting.

"I'm not his owl, I'm his friend."

Taehyung snorted.

"Okay. I see why you wouldn't want to talk to him just yet. But one little text won't hurt, you know?"

Taehyung's hand twitched. Jungkook was watching him intently, noting all the details as his mate was starting to break through the fake mask Jungkook couldn't stand.

"I don't understand."

"I sai-"

"No." The alpha interrupted in an icy voice. "I don't understand why you would care." His eyes that were casted on the scenery of the busy city beyond the window they were sat by, swiftly turned to him. "I reckon that, a couple of months ago, the entire universe wanted Jimin and I separated if only in order to be with you. Now that Jimin's gone, and he and I aren't together anymore, and I am clearly giving you all the attention you desperately longed for," Jungkook gulped. "Why the fuck would you care about wether I texted him or he called me back?"

Shivers went down the true blood's spine. Ever since he was a child, Jungkook hasn't felt nervousness this great. His mate's cold demeanor was facing him; his hidden wrath, barely shielded, was turned into his direction and Jungkook found himself reflecting on the alpha's words.

"You're right."

Jungkook's sudden agreement seemed to take Taehyung by surprise from the little widening of his eyes.

"I have no mind coming in between you two. It's your business anyway. I apologize for having been quite intrusive." He reaffirmed.

At the poised words, Taehyung felt himself calming down considerably. He was glad Jungkook got his point. If it were someone else, Taegyung was sure he would have been dismissed as people tend to focus on the emotion coming from him rather than the idea behind his words. Having been attacked several times before, he felt a sense of unique acceptance in the way Jungkook took  in his words the logical way and nothing more, completely overlooking his surge of anger.

"However," the jet haired boy added after a few seconds. "If I had to talk only about things concerning us." He gestured to the both of them for emphasis. "I'd say that you're not fooling anyone."

Taehyung stiffened but stayed quiet, choosing to hear the older first. It was only fair after all.

"Maybe you're used to pushing everyone out of your way by simply lying to their faces and it might've worked. Not on me, though."

"What are you talking about?" Taehyung suddenly decided he didn't want to hear anymore.

"I'm talking about you, making everyone including me, think you're happy and in love. When clearly, it's not the case."

Jungkook took another deep breath. It's better if he stripped everything bare and said it all. He could deal with the consequences later.

"I heard you crying the other night when I was leaving. And the morning in the shower when I came to pick you up. And in the toilet of the campus before classes yesterday."

Taehyung's face, hard and impassible, made no move to deny nor approve his mate's words. He only ignored the accusations.

"Taehyung, are you forcing yourself to sleep with me?"

"We're not sleeping together." Taehyung rolled his eyes, defensive.

"You know what I mean. Do you force yourself to do sexual stuff with me? Because of the mate bond?"

Taehyung stayed silent. He didn't speak another word and categorically refused to look the other in the eyes. He was ashamed and taken aback from the question because he simply didn't think Jungkook would read him so openly and so fast. Did he force himself though? Not really. It was his choice and his wolf's and Taehyung was okay with it.
Jungkook on the other hand took the silence in a completely different way.

With a creak of his chair against the wooden floor, he got up in one movement.

"Jungk-"

"Don't. It's.." Jungkook looked down for a moment, face contorted in what appeared to be a mix of both contemplation and grief. "I'm done."
