"Mom, can I ask you a question?" Baekhyun had hesitated a lot before he decided to confront his mother about the bomb that was dropped a few days ago about his father and newfound sibling.
Bora stopped stirring the soup on the stove of her kitchen, and Baekhyun decided to go for it. "Tell me honestly, why did you never tell me who my father was?"
Bora hands stilled and then she put down the chopsticks she was stirring with and turned to face her son.
"I was ashamed."Baekhyun stared at the sincerity that shone in his mother's eyes. "There's no excusing Daehwon and I having any sort of relationship just because we were fated mates. He had his own wife, his own kids and his own life and I came in and ruined it." She approached her son and took his hand, taking them to the stools of the kitchen table where they sat, facing each other. "When I got pregnant and ran away, I...I..." she gulped and her eyes watered again as if even after all these years, she couldn't bear the memory of what went down two decades ago. "I knew I wouldn't see him again. I felt it, in our bond, I knew it was the end then. And sometimes I just... I can't help but think that it's all my fault..." she couldn't hold her tears anymore and barely stifled her cried as Baekhyun took her in his arms, shushing her.
"It's not your fault, mom. You were fated mates, everyone knows it's almost impossible for fated wolves to stay away from each other. And you running away... maybe it was for the best." He added reluctantly. Bora looked up at him in surprise. "I mean, if we stayed in the North, maybe we'd have been caught up in the war and we probably wouldn't be here today."
Bora looked her son in the eyes, an indescribable feeling coursing through her. She never thought that telling Baekhyun the truth would end up this way. Actually, she never even intended to tell him anything out of shame and fear. She was scared her only son, her only family, would judge her too harshly and as egotistic as it sounds, she couldn't bear the idea of it. But now, the truth was out, and her son forgave her. Moreover, she now has a new family member whom she was determined to help as much as possible.
"Taehyung was really close to Byeonghyun, wasn't he?" Baekhyun muttered in his mother's hair as she hugged him again even more fiercely. He felt her nodding.
"That poor boy went through a lot, and it shows." She finally removed herself from the hug, sighing. "I can't believe Jungkook is his fated mate. I always thought Daehwon and I were a mistake and that's why we never told anyone, but this doesn't seem like a mistake anymore. Why are they so mean to each other though, do you know?"
Baekhyun shook his head. "Jackson told us they never went along and they always rejected the bond. Apparently at first Taehyung wanted to mate with Jimin but then Jimin found Yoongi and Hoseok... what's curious is that I've never seen Jungkook hate someone so much in my entire life." Bora looked pained at the information her son told her but couldn't help but agree. "I mean they nearly killed each other during the training, I've never seen mates act like that towards each other..."
"Well, let's just hope that whatever's going on between them will have settled down by now."
-
"No." Jimin squinted at the true blood, his patience running thin. "I don't want to."
"You will." Jimin insisted. "It's not like you can run away with the state you're in and believe me, Jungkook, I don't like taking no for an answer and it's definitely not beyond me to force your ass."
"Come on, Jimin, let him be. He clearly doesn't wanna play." Taehyung intervened before something gets out of hand.
"Listen to your best friend, Jimin. I'd rather sleep, I'm tired after all the effort I made trying not to kill him during the fight."
Taehyung suddenly turned to Jungkook, a murderous glare in his eyes. "You think I wouldn't have killed you if I wanted to?"
Jungkook snorted. "Oh please, your wolf could barely hold himself up and I wasn't even using a fifth of my strength." Taehyung suddenly rose from his lying position.
"Guys-"
"So what you're saying is that I'm not worth you using your full strength to fight me?"
Jungkook sat as well. "What I'm saying is that you wouldn't stand a chance if I actually fought you. You'd be dead already."
"You're a liar. You were struggling too, I sensed it. You can lie to me all you want, but the bond doesn't lie!"
"The only thing I struggled so much with was trying not kill you!"
"I demand a rematch then. I don't like fighting with cowards."
"Guys-"
Jungkook stood up ignoring all the bandages, casts and tubes connected to his body. "Say that again, I dare you." Taehyung stood up as well, against Jimin's pleas and hands trying to keep him seated.
"You're a coward, Jeon Jungkook." The true blood's growl made the beta's blood run cold.
"STOP." Jimin was nearly crushed between the two wolves whose pheromones were practically suffocating him more than their bodies. "What the fuck is wrong with you?!"
Neither of them budged and Jimin had to scream again, louder. This time, it was Hoseok who barged through the door in earnest, a murderous expression on his face."Whose brilliant idea was it to put you two in the same room again?"

"Alpha, we have some bad news." Seojoon announced as soon as the office door was shut down. "We lost track of Yoongi and Lucas."
The Head Alpha got up from his seat at once. "The trackers don't work?"
"No, sir. We lost all signs of them about fifteen hours ago. We thought it was because they lost signal at one point but we can't locate them anymore. Their phones don't work as well."
This was not what Alpha Jeon wanted to hear. He knew sending his son and Beta to the North in these particular circumstances was a bad idea, but he had no choice. Just today, he received a letter from Alpha Park, one of the only connections he still has in the South, telling him that the southern packs meeting went terribly and that they spoke of revoking the peace treaty following Bangtan's attack on Song's pack. He was overwhelmed, unsettled and his back was to the wall.
"Have we tried locating them using the outside's GPS?" He questioned, hoping to hear at least some positive answers.
"We tried but it doesn't work, they were disconnected before reaching the GPS's radar." Seojoon answered professionally, but his tone had a tremor that betrayed an underlying panic. "Alpha, we believe that they might've been intercepted by the Council somehow."
"That's impossible!" Jiyong, who was pacing back and forth stopped abruptly and turned to his young messenger . "No one knows about those passageways except the Kim family and us, for the Council to intercept them, they need to have been tipped off-"
Jiyong suddenly stopped as Seojoon looked down.
"Seojoon, call Jung and Wang for an emergency meeting." The Head Alpha jumped back to his desk where he was fumbling with some documents that Seojoon knew nothing about. "You too, as Head of the warriors unit, you must be present. We have an attack to plan."
