Taehyung had two choices. The first one, act like nothing happened, go back to his room and finish the essay that was due in three days.
The second one, single out his mate and talk to him.
Now Taehyung originally wanted to do neither of those things and just sleep. But Taehyung's wolf was adamant on reaching out to their mate and the brunette can only be so stubborn. After a week, he caved in.
But here's where it gets interesting.

Taehyung had to laugh.
It's been two weeks. And everytime the brunette's wanted to hold a private conversation with his mate, the entire universe stepped in.
After that day in the kitchen, we was sure Jungkook was avoiding him.
Taehyung wasn't confused about the "why". After all, he would avoid himself too after what he did. The question that trotted his mind was rather the "how". Because in two weeks, living in the same pack, going to the same university, surely they would've at least bumped into each other?
How did Jeon Jungkook disappear completely after that dinner was the question that rendered Taehyung's nights sleepless.

Until one faithful day, he heard the breaking news. The words that will leave the wolf completely thunderstruck.

"Jungkook went to the south."

The words ringed so wrong in his ears he could've heard them wrong. He must have.

"What the fuck are you on about?"

Jin sighed and turned to face the younger.

"He went there a week ago. How come you didn't know? Jimin didn't tell you?"

No, that fucking midget didn't.

Truthfully, Hoseok and Yoongi had to leave urgently because the Beta was summoned by Alpha Jeon for an emergency in the south.
And so Jimin was adamant on resuming his life alongside his mates with promises of coming back as much as he could. He had informed Taehyung that he would finish his studies there as well and requested to officially move packs from Namjoon. Jimin couldn't contain his excitement, his stay would mean his mating ceremony would directly follow suit and Taehyung was as thrilled for his best friend as the boy himself.

Now hearing about Jungkook's departure was what made him restless. No one bothered to tell him that his freaking mate disappeared a week ago to go back to the south of all places? He knew Jungkook's family overlooked his abandonment and accepted the fact that he's living in Lupus but the rest of the pack's would not be as merciful. He was still a target.

However, Taehyung's thoughts all went downhill when he was called to the office that very day. He hated coming here because of the amount of bad memories he had in this place. And it only appears to get worse.

"Taehyung, there's something you need to know."

Kim Namjoon and Kim Seokjin faced the lanky looking boy whose eyes shone redder and redder the more spoken words registered into his young mind until he finally got a hold on what the actual fuck was going on.
Turns out, the Council had learnt about his situation with Jungkook.
But that wasn't all.
News blew out and everyone came to know that Jeon Jungkook was a true blood. The entire werewolves specie had heard of the young golden boy, of his "tragic" story and that the Moon Goddess had given him an alpha for mate.
An alpha he hasn't marked yet.

Needless to say, all hell broke loose. The Council had taken it upon themselves to blackmail Bangtan in order to speak with the Head Alpha Jeon and threatened to use the information on their son in exchange of gaining access to their pack grounds.
They didn't wait another night to spread the news. And now, Jeon Jungkook was officially a new sought after prey.

Each pack took the information in their own way but most considered the young wolf not marking his mate as rejection. Therefore the entire werewolf race wanted to marry their offspring to the true blood.
Rumors upon rumors of Taehyung's sickness, Jungkook rejection of a rival mate, Alpha Namjoon's holding  the true blood prisoner in the north and the latter's brother mating two wolves had broken out.

Everything was essentially going to shit.

And now, Jungkook was gone.

And Taehyung felt like committing murder.

"Someone better fucking explain to me the reason why I can't go back to the south right now and break that bitch's nose!"

"Taehyung, this is worse than a little banter with the Council. Everyone knows."

"But it's not true! Jungkook didn't reject me! And I didn't reject him either!" He defended, losing patience with every passing second.

"That's your version but after speaking with both of you, separately, they concluded your imminent rejection."

"Or apparent hostility at least." Jin added while he grabbed his hair with both hands and squeezed, face green.

Something else had happened amid this whole messed up situation. Seokjin was pregnant. The Alpha and Luna of Lupus were expecting a child.
What a convenient timing.

"Jinnie, do you need to lay down?" Namjoon asked his mate, concerned but was dismissed by the unwell omega with a reassuring smile.
Jin had went through so much ever since he was a teen and pregnancy at times of crisis oddly didn't feel like much anymore. He had raised Taehyung while he was only sixteen whilst tackling being Luna of a pack that was slowly coming out from war. There wasn't much Kim Seokjin couldn't take on really.

"I'm going there." The brunette said again with more affirmation.

"You can't, Taehyung." Namjoon was also losing his marbles. The Alpha was ready to collapse at any given moment because not only his status was questioned because of the rumors spread by the Council but their pack was still on hostile terms with the rogues they had captured a few weeks prior and it wasn't going smoothly for them from the outside borders. To put it simply, Lupus was becoming an easy target.
Everything the grey haired alpha has always been fighting against was happening and it was such a damn unsuitable time for any of this.
"They will capture you as soon as you step out of here. They're after you too."

"What?" The alpha turned abruptly to face his brother, "why?!"

The couple threw each other one of their knowing looks before sighing longingly.

"They want revenge for making Jungkook suffer."

They had to be joking. This was the craziest bullshit he had ever-

"I don't know if you realize, but true bloods are non existent in our day and age. The only pure blooded line of werewolves left is the Jeon one. And their descendant is your very mate, Jeon Jungkook."

Taehyung knew that fucker wasn't any normal werewolf. Of course he had to be matched with a freaking legend of whatever...

"So what? They want to challenge our Goddess? Last time I checked, she gave him to me." Taehyung pointed his finger towards his torso in emphasis and shook his head. "They have no right to come in between us because of some faulty assumptions." Namjoon lifted an eyebrow at that sat statement which made Taehyung roll his eyes dramatically. Okay they did have their angsty moments, so what?
That's still no excuse to separate them in Taehyung's book.

"They want the line to perpetuate." Jin explained, adjusting himself on the chair comfortably.

"They want his kids? Why?"

"Because he's the last one standing, Taehyung! The line ends with him!"

Taehyung was fuming.
How dare the Council get in between his and his mate's business? Jungkook was his fated one and nobody was going to take him away! And wanting Jungkook's kids? What was he some sort of sick experiment?
Honestly they're in the 21st century fuck blood lines and fuck this archaic way of thinking.
If they want his mate, they'll have to get through him first.
He didn't go through hell and back and finally accepted his second half for him to be taken away.

"We'll see about that."
