The tunnels leading to the North were guarded more than the Main House. The Jeons wanted to keep them hidden away from the Council by not using them since they were on the outskirts of their pack, and that the recurrent usage of them would end up catching the patrolling wolves attention. But now, they needed to find an alternative plan. They had to get to Lupus and make up some sort of strategy. Bringing them food and provisions will help but only momentarily. And if the Council monitored their stocks, they would notice the new ones anyways and be even more suspicious.

No, they had to find a way to end this and quickly, lest the southern packs decided to move on their own and get to the North to exact vengeance. Vengeance for what you may ask? Well the Council made it clear that it was very easy for Lupus to kidnap Bangtan's heir from under their noses without anyone noticing and that they might as well do the same with any of the other packs if they wanted to. Not to mention that the heir they "stole" is a Jeon and a true blood at that. It was even more reason to be scared of them. And scared old fashioned people often seem to make scary old fashioned decisions. Like kill and torture. And no one wants a remake of ten years ago. The losses were huge on both parties but it was the North that was mainly decimated. It wasn't fair.

Those were Jungkook's thoughts and he was glad that his father has, at last, decided to take action. He didn't fool himself into thinking Jimin and his two mates had nothing to do with it, but he was glad nonetheless. He still didn't hear the full plan yet but it appears as if his mission was more on the undercover side once again. And Jungkook doesn't know if he should be happy or angry about it.

"He needs to get out of there, it's not safe for him if he's not guarded at all times." His father explained, mainly to him, while they were surrounded by five other people, who all seem to agree with the former.

"Father, you know I won't be able to convince him to move out of there." He tried to reason.

"He doesn't have a choice." Yoongi interjected, prompting the set of eyes to turn to him instead "Look, we all know he's a mule but with the way everyone is blaming him for the war we're in, we can't trust he won't be harmed."

"If he was kidnapped once under our noses before, it's far more easier now that we are openly in war with most of the surrounding packs, which all decided to side with the Council after we nearly broke the peace treaty." Hoseok added gravely.

Jungkook's eyes darkened. He supposed that his pack was nothing short of hostile towards his supposed mate after they learned of the rumors, but now that they knew for sure the attack was launched to get Taehyung out...

"Alright." He deflated. "I'll do it. I'll go talk to him." He didn't see any other issue and Jungkook doesn't like being a pain in the ass for anyone, especially not where war is concerned. His father nodded to him and his mother smiled encouragingly. Even they knew the danger they were putting themselves into when they decided to explicitly side with the North, and accept their heir into their territory.

On his way to the clinic, where the alpha was staying more because of his obstination to piss everyone off than out of necessity, he ran into Lucas.

"Bambi! What are you doing here?" The tall beta stabilized him with both hands on his shoulders, smiling brightly at him. It's been a couple of days since the true blood saw him, having enclosed himself in the basement of the main house, ignoring everyone's existence. Jungkook couldn't help noticing the irony of the situation, he started acting exactly like Taehyung.

"Lulu," he greeted once he retrieved his footing, "I'm heading to Taehyung's for some mission." Lucas' eyes shone a bit brighter at this.

"Do you need some emotional support?" Jungkook snorted out loud. Lucas knew his so well.

"I'd love to, but the whole thing is messed up enough that I think it's better I just deal with it myself." Lucas nodded in understanding.

"Well, you know where to find me when you're all done!" He pushed a few strands of hair away from the true blood's forehead before he moved backwards and left with a wave.

It took Jungkook a few seconds to get himself together and continue his path to the clinic. He didn't know why his heart made that small flutter when the beta was around and did things like that, but he didn't want to think about it, especially not now.

When he pushed the door to the room after two useless knocks, he was greeted with the same sight as the last time he was here. Taehyung was lying in bed, almost lazily, his expression neutral and bored. However, Jungkook noticed the object that was a few moments prior between his hands. His phone. No doubt, Taehyung was trying to reach out to his brother, or Jin, or probably anyone from the North. But everyone knew that communication was sparse and that it was impossible to reach them that way. Everything was shut down there, and the only way to get information to and from them was through the tunnels.
Jungkook suddenly felt bad for the alpha. At least he was surrounded by his family and his friends during these hard times. But Taehyung wasn't.
Stupid, he knows, to be pitying the person that broke his heart only one too many times, but Jungkook really couldn't help it.

"Hey." He said, and decided that he would be as direct and as emotionless as possible. He did feel bad but he knows damn well that Taehyung didn't respond well to that. And honestly, he'd just rather be done with it. "It's not safe for you out here, you need to move into the Main House."

Taehyung nodded, without sparing the black haired a look. "Okay?" Jungkook added, skeptical. He didn't expect Taehyung to say no to this request but he didn't expect it to be this easy either.

Taehyung nodded again. "When should I leave?" He surprised Jungkook again by asking him this time.

"Uhm, probably today?" Maybe Jungkook should've asked for more precise information before coming here. That was made more obvious when a glare was shot his way by Taehyung himself. "Well, to be fair, I didn't expect you to just agree with me. I thought it'd take more convincing or something." He blurted out, a red hue coloring his cheeks, with what emotion exactly, Jungkook didn't know.

"Okay." Taehyung responded, and then went back to ignoring him by looking away.

Deciding he embarrassed himself enough for one day, he decided to turn away and leave. But before he reached the doorknob, he added. "You should move into my old room, it's empty."

He didn't listen for an answer or turned to see a reaction before he left, shutting the door behind him.

The next day, Jungkook learned that Taehyung moved out of the clinic and settled into the main house. He didn't know how to feel about that, but he decided they didn't have enough time to interpret feelings when they were about to spend the next few hours in an enclosed office, discussing plans to reach the North without attracting too much attention.

"Shall we begin?" Yoongi started, but he was interrupted by the Luna.

"I think we can all agree that there's a person who's as much concerned by this talk than any of us here."

"Jieun-"

"No, she's right." Jimin added defensively, "Taehyung is more concerned by these decisions that we are honestly, he needs to be here." Yoongi nodded in understanding after a few seconds, followed by the rest. Jungkook didn't move, not sure why exactly. But that didn't last since his father adresses him directly.

"Well, go bring him up?" Jungkook didn't know why but he was suddenly very pissed. He didn't wanna cause a scene, but he really wasn't in the mood to play emissary for the tortured alpha anymore. He did, however, incline his head in agreement and moved out to call Taehyung in.
