There was a beat of silence in the room where the seven people inside took some time to assimilate the information they just received.

"Well, I need to go find Lucas. We need to move in the dead of the night. With a bit of luck we'll arrive to Lupus in two days and we'll be back here by the end of the week with a semblance of a plan." Yoongi, breaking the silence, concluded.

"Jin, he's.." Jimin suddenly started.

"Pregnant. I know." Jieun finished. She still had that small smile that was so similar to Jungkook's that it was almost impossible to tell them apart from that specific trait alone. "We were hoping to get him out of there, the children and the elderly as well. In case there's been an attack." She added softly.

Jimin shivered, and the hand that was clutching Taehyung'a was colder than ice with how much the blood circulation had been cut off. The latter was in no better condition, but he knew freaking out would do no one any good. So he stayed silent.

"We'll assess the situation there first, and take into account Namjoon and Jin's decision before we can do anything." Yoongi prompted, earning nods from the group. "Alright, let's do this."

When they scattered about, leaving only Yoongi and his parents in the office, probably to discuss further confidential details, Taehyung grabbed Jimin and took him away before the blonde could even utter a proper goodbye to his mate.

"Jimin, I know who stole the file." Jimin's eyes rounded. They were standing in the back of the Main House, a huge tree effectively dissimulating them from outer sight.

"Wha-"

"Look, the other night when I was moving from the clinic into the Main House, I saw something on the southern entrance of the pack near where I was staying. I thought it was just patrolling wolves but when I got closer I recognized Lucas." He explained in a hushed deep voice.

"Tae, you can't seriously be incriminating your friend!" Jimin scoffed.

"I saw him, Jimin! He was talking to some dude and he didn't look like he wanted to be seen." Taehyung explained, his eyes boring into his best friend's, pleading him to believe his words. "He's not a member or even a friend of anyone in this pack! Why would he be meeting with someone at night, in a conveniently deserted area?" Jimin rolled his eyes.

"Taehyung, look, I know you don't like him ever since he got close to Jungkook. But this is not a reason to start spewing this nonsense around! This is an extremely serious matter."

"He's not just close to Jungkook, he's manipulating him."

"Okay, no." Jimin put his hand up, stopping the alpha from saying anything else. "This jealousy of yours is very misplaced. So, what if Jungkook has friends he fancy spending time with? I thought you knew he wasn't interested in your bond anymore and that you decided to leave him alone-"

"He kissed him."

Jimin spluttered. "What? What are you talking about?"

"I saw them, earlier. When we left the office, I saw them kissing." Taehyung's voice was trembling slightly, the only indicator that this was affecting him in any way.

"Tae..." Jimin understood then that his best friend was probably on the verge of a mental breakdown. "Listen, it's okay. I know this mustn't have been easy to witness but you have to see from Jungkook's perspective as well." He tried to reason with the taller, but to no avail.

"I don't care what he does and with whom. I'm telling you, Jimin. I saw Lucas and he was acting weird that night. Think about it-"

"No. I'm not listening to any more of this nonsense. Lucas was helping the wolves monitoring around your clinic because you decided you didn't want to leave. And we were all scared for you because, I don't know if you've noticed, but you are hated by literally every single person in this pack." Jimin fumed. If Taehyung wanted to be blinded by jealousy, so be it. But he was going to tell him the truth and let him handle it the way he wanted to. "Bangtan is a huge pack, Tae. With the reinforced borders, the wolves were getting tired and they needed more people on the outskirts. We proposed to move you out of the clinic when it became obvious that you required more protection and that we didn't have any warriors wolves left to spare."
