Jungkook broke out of the pack that same night. Initially, he thought of not telling a soul and fleeing at night. An oddly familiar energy flowed through him as he recalled the last time he did that same thing: escape without anyone's notice. Generally, people tend to get better at things with time, but it appears Jungkook wasn't the case. A few steps inside the woods made him realize that very quickly.

"You followed me?"

He stopped for a small break, not having to turn around in order to assess the person behind him.

"You already fleed once little brother, can't make it twice on my radar."

Jungkook flinched at the backhanded implication but refused to give in.
He turned to look his brother dead in the eye.

"I'm not letting him get killed under my radar either. He's still my mate."

"Goddess almighty." Yoongi sighed dramatically. "This boy is going to be the end of you. No fuck that, he's going to be the end of us."

Jungkook knew the resignation behind Yoongi's glare wasn't necessarily directed to helping his mate but instead directed at himself. Yoongi wasn't going to let Jungkook alone in this one. Not again, not ever.

"Song." He voiced out after a minute of silence. "Song did it."

"Alpha Song?" Jungkook interjected incredulously. What a turn of events.

"Bargaining sheep or blackmail, call it whatever you please. But I'm pretty darn sure it's him."

"Motherfucker..." Jungkook muttered, still unable to process the information well. He can't believe Bangtan's closest ally would turn their backs on them this way. So much for marrying his only child. Jungkook thought he would've probably given in at the end of the day. He was pretty damn sure he would've married Alpha Song's daughter and accepted the peace treaty it ensured between the southern packs. But if by any means the rumor was true, if they really did help kidnap his mate. If they had a hand in this catastrophe, Jungkook wouldn't be able to guarantee his passiveness towards them.

"Why are you helping me?"

Yoongi snorted.

"It's not like you're my only brother or anything."

"You can get into so much shit for doing that, Yoongs. Seriously. With father and the Council-"

"Oh for fuck's sake! Go already!"

It appears Jungkook needed only that much to be spurred into action.

"Seojoon and I will secure your behind, I'm positive they're being kept on the outskirts or the pack grounds since you can't feel the separation pain. It's the closest to our territory without being too close for suspicion."

"That almost sounds too good to be true." Jungkook heard himself muttering, the gears turning in his head. He was actually planning on going out totally unprepared except for the strong will to find Taehyung and Lucas and bring them somewhere safe. So Yoongi's presence and plan were totally welcomed by the ravenette.

"Alright." He sighed in resignation. "Let's go." Yoongi nodded.

"And where to?"

The two figures stood still as the outline of two other people could be seen through the heavy trees only discernible because of the faint moonlight. It seemed the youngest wasn't the only one bad at fleeing at night.

"What? Cat caught your tongues?" The voice snapped once more.

"What the fuck Jimin?" Yoongi breathed after catching on to who was actually there. "You sneaky little fuck I thought I left you sleeping."

"So you were planning on leaving again?" Hoseok's voice boomed stronger than his younger mate, painted with a hint of anger.

Yoongi was baffled and ashamed at the same time. It's not like he was planning on disappearing without a farewell but he knew this was not a mission he'd want to risk them immersing themselves in. The stakes were just too high.

"It-"

"Don't even try." Jimin's figure approached and Jungkook could see the faint expression of sadness along with their mate's apparent frown.

"Hoseok."

"I'm honestly tired of having you disappear to go Goddess knows where without sparing us a second thought." the redhead spat while coming to stand near his shorter mate.

Jungkook only looked at the group with understanding eyes. He knew his brother had a very bad tendency of doing whatever seemed right to him without second thinking the people around him. He knew it because he was exactly that way too. Maybe a bit more on the exaggerated side considering his own rank.
But as much as he'd love nothing more than to help fix the misunderstanding that seemed to flourish at moment between the three lovers, he knew his was possibly in danger as they were speaking and he couldn't bear staying another minute without doing something about it.

So without as much as a sound, he managed to slip away from the intense threeway staring context and further move inside the thick forest preceding their now enemy's pack.

Jungkook could still feel a presence somewhere behind him, but the scent he could pick up informed him that it was most likely to be Seojoon as Yoongi promised he'd be there to help.
Jungkook actually preferred not having his brother interfere in whatever he was about to do, as Bangtan's Beta, he'd be better off showing his loyalty where it actually must lay. Jungkook, as far as he was concerned, was no longer a member of Bangtan and therefore had no etiquette binding him to his former pack that would hinder him from doing what he was about to do, contrary to his sibling.

Jungkook moved ever so slowly between gigantic trees and tall grass, camouflaging his body and his scent as much as he could. To be fair, Jungkook knew his scent was a dead giveaway to his presence and would possibly ruin his entire plan. Thankfully, he did learn how to master his senses in situations of danger more than anyone else when he was still in training and even afterwards. One of the main reasons he did manage to flee his original pack in the first place without being found until he was already far out of reach.
As of now, he knew he couldn't absolutely disguise his alpha male scent to the fullest but he knew what he was doing was enough to give him a head start on the patrolling wolves he could already sense as he was approaching.

He knew Seojoon was deliberately letting his scent be picked on. He would pose as a distraction. Jungkook only prayed that he wouldn't be attacked to the point of bad injury at first. He did count on the fact that Bangtan was still considering the Song's pack an ally until proven otherwise.
And oh how much Jungkook was ready to prove just the opposite.

Jungkook's body fit right behind a specially large oak tree a bit farther behind, watching carefully the pattern in which their guards were patrolling. He knew they were feeling intruders, two at best, and only betas he hoped. They ignored it once they took notice of Seojoon's staggering form.

A particular accident against a rather small loose branch probably confirmed their suspicions: a drunk wolf and his mate looking for a secluded place to bang but ended up straying far off.

Jungkook seized the opportunity with two hands and couldn't help marvel at his hyung's particularly great acting skills as he entertained the guards by looking left to right for his supposed "mate".

The moment Jungkook's scent started to become more prominent however, and less prone to hiding, he was already ten steps inside the back entrance of the pack and already marching toward what looked to be an abandoned barn seeing as its state looked everything but kept. The smell was horrendous and Jungkook secretly thanked the Moon Goddess for it would help hide him for a bit more time before he could be found.

Jungkook took turns left and right, approaching a rather well hidden trap underneath a considerable pile of junk and paused. He could feel something under there. He knew someone was being kept behind that trap door. One person, not two or three as he had previously hoped.

If the Council only kidnapped Taehyung, the others must've ran free days ago. They might've have heard from them. They should've gotten word back from Lupus. But it wasn't he case.
Whatever reason Jungkook could only feel one prisoner here was, he prayed with all his might for a reassuring explanation for it.
