"Finally!"
Taehyung didn't have time to inhale the scent of greenery around him before a hand was enveloped around his arm pulling him between a blur of bodies and faces he barely recognized.

"I need help with getting the pastries out of the van." The tall omega turned to give him a small smile.

"Just how much did you order, hyung?" Taehyung questioned upon seeing the multiple boxes and plates full of mouthwatering food stacked inside of the van.

"I might have went a little overboard I must say." Jin admitted sheepishly. "It's been a while since we've had any sort of celebration in this pack so I wanted to make it special."

Taehyung hummed. He started piling the boxes in one of his arms with the help of Jin who gave him a knowing smirk. "I see the training made a difference." He couldn't help pointing out eliciting a huff from the brunette.

"I don't even wanna talk about it." He rolled his eyes when he didn't feel any exhaustion from the eight carton boxes of food he was holding. If he tried this only a month ago he would have collapsed from the weight at the fourth one. Those were some heavy boxes.

"Who's this new member anyways, I don't remember Namjoon hyung talk about it before?"

They were making their way to the big buffet installed within the clearing inside the forest. It's where the pack used to reunite whenever there was any celebration. But that was long ago. Now it was mostly used as training ground for the pups.

"I'm not really sure but I heard he's going to the same college as Jimin and you."

Taehyung tried to think of any new wolf he might have seen on campus but didn't remember any except one. Yeah, no way.

"Perfect. Just a few more errands and we're done." Jin encouraged. "Come on."

-

"Jiminie!" The blond turned at the voice calling his name.

"Mark, Lucas. It's been a while." He smiled at his two friends. They may go to the same university but they rarely see each other. The three hugged tightly before engaging in an enthusiastic conversation.

"So I heard you knew who the new member was." Haechan who joined them shortly after and was clinging to his mate's side, asked the blonde.

"Wait, who told you that? I actually have no idea." Jimin denied. He actually did have a small guess but for the sake of his best friend, he wished he was wrong.

"So.. you and Taehyung?" Lucas smirked.

"What about it?" Jimin flushed and looked away.

"Oh come on. I see how you both act in college. You even let him scent you!" Lucas was enjoying the flustered look on his friend's face as he pried for information.

"I- we were just experimenting." The trio bursted out laughing.

"Yeah you've been doing that for the past twenty years! Just say you're whipped and go." Mark laughed and Jimin cracked a smile.

"I care about him as much as he cares about me and that's all you need to know."

A few wolves joined the group as some finished installing the speakers and others were helping the senior wolves start the fire.

"All I'm saying is that you must wait until next year to see if she's really your mate. Though I can already tell just by the stares she's been giving you constantly." Youngjae explained to Sehun. The boy was eighteen and madly in love with the sweet sixteen years old Chaeyoung.
Said girl passed by the group causing a strangled sound to erupt from the beta. The reaction made everyone mock poor Sehun who was just very intimidated by the alpha girl.

-

"Jin hyung, I wanted to ask you something." Taehyung was sat by a tree, exhausted and sweating from all the rundowns his hyung made him do.
The omega smiled and installed himself beside the younger, pushing his head on his wide shoulder and massaging his scalp.

"What is it, Taebear?"

Taehyung hesitated. "How- how does someone reject his mate?"

A very short silence ensured the question where only distant chatters and laughs were heard before Jin talked.

"Why do you ask, Taehyung?" The said boy could feel the slight tense of his parent figure even though his voice sounded soft and nothing but curious. So he gulped. He didn't want his hyung to know he found his mate because he knew the latter would somehow find a way to convince him of accepting the bond. Something Taehyung doesn't want.

"Just curious. I heard it was uh.. a strong bond." Jin hummed. If he suspected something, he didn't show it.

"I see. You must really mean the rejection when you pronounce it and the other person has to accept it or else it won't ever be complete. Rejecting your mate is not something to take lightly nor is it something they teach in packs anymore because of the high risks."

"What risks?"

"Well it can vary from one wolf to another but rejecting a bond as strong and sacred as the mate bond can be dangerous. I'm not saying people can't live without their mates but if it was chosen for you by the Moon Goddess then it means he or she is the person that is meant to complete you. Your perfect match." Jin sighed. "Rejecting this bond is accepting to live in misery and loneliness because no one can ever replace your true mate. Some wolves end up alone for the rest of their lives, some go crazy and some.. well some can go as far as kill themselves out of pure agony."

Taehyung couldn't help the shudder that went through his body at his Seokjin's words. Was it that serious?

"But what if you're already in love with someone else, does it really affect you? I mean it-"

"Taehyung listen up." Jin turned around making the brunette face him, his hands grabbing his shoulders tightly. "I don't know what you did or what you're planning to do, but this is very serious." Taehyung looked down. "It's not about feelings or preferences, it's about survival. So I suggest you don't make any rushed decisions and if you need something, anything, you come to me. You know I won't ever judge you or push you because all I want is your happiness. Okay?"

"O-okay."
