Like a slap to the face, Jungkook appeared shocked and more awake than he was a minute ago. He made a sudden movement to sit straighter, a movement which let out a cracking sound that made the other three wince, before he squinted at the supposed brothers again.

"Goddess..." he muttered suddenly. "You look like the boy from the photograph!" Baekhyun and his mother looked confused at the true blood's words but Taehyung knew. Jungkook had seen the photograph where he and his Baekhyun were posing with matching striped shirts and bright innocent smiles.

"That was my dead brother, Byeonghyun." Taehyung didn't want to use the other name because he could see how it affected this Baekhyun when he hears of his dead twin brother who had the exact same name for some reason. "He was Baekhyun's twin, and Bora is their mother."

Jungkook's head turned sharply to the alpha and he looked positively startled at the news. He knew most of Taehyung's brothers were dead during the war, and had assumed that it was the same case for the boy in the photograph. But he never wondered what had truly happened, and why of all Taehyung's brothers, he only seemed to have photos of that particular one, and that no one, not even Jimin, could tell him what happened exactly to him. Judging from the brunette's face, it had to be something terrible and he knew better than to ask Taehyung himself. Even his stepmother and Baekhyun didn't seem to know much.

"I bought this." Baekhyun, after an awkward moment of silence, moved forward with a little basket full of snacks and books which he deposited on a small table between Taehyung and Jungkook's beds. "Get well soon. Hopefully." He added with a cringe, "your father is really not happy about this so I really hope you recover quickly."
With a small wave from him and a clearly unhappy smile from Bora, they left the room.

"I saw that photograph in your room a while ago." Taehyung, who was still fixing the basket, startled at the true blood's words, not expecting him to talk to him after the others left. "I knew it looked vaguely familiar but I never really put two and two together, even if I've known Baekhyun for almost all my life and that picture looked very familiar. You guys look a lot alike." Taehyung didn't know what to say to he stayed silent. And apparently, Jungkook wasn't done talking either. "Wait, if Bora is your brother's mom, how come you never knew? I mean maybe not you but your brothers must've known he wasn't your mother's child, no?" Taehyung thought about it for a moment.

"They probably don't remember. Namjoon was the oldest and he was barely six years old at that time, I guess getting another brother wasn't something that incredible at that point." He rolled his eyes, but he was quick to sadness again. His parents had raised Baekhyun like the rest of them. He never, not even once, felt that Baekhyun wasn't his parents' child as much as he was. How crazy it is, that out of all his brothers, it was Baekhyun who had a twin living in the South? Taehyung didn't get enough time to wonder about the whole situation and what it implied. Still, just thinking about it made his head hurt and he decided not to do that.
Jungkook was very quiet after that, and Taehyung took that moment's peace and cherished it. He knew nothing was remotely fine, but this was better than fighting and insulting each other. He rested his head on the pillow and closed his eyes. Pain was throbbing through his entire body, but instead of cringing from it, Taehyung embraced it.
Nothing seemed clear, nothing in the future looked bright at all. Taehyung didn't miss Jiyong's words about Jungkook wanting to go back to Bangtan and resume his old position as next Head Alpha. But Taehyung still relaxed. In that exact moment, he felt like he, for once, did everything he could. He followed Jungkook, he apologized to him, he fought him.
If Jungkook decides that going back to the south was the best thing for him, Taehyung could do nothing about that.
Maybe, just maybe, severing their bond was the only reasonable thing left to do.

"What the fuck you guys?" Jimin barged in a few hours later, waking both boys from an uncomfortable slumber.

"You're the third person that came to scold us today." Jungkook grumbled, his voice thick with sleep.

"Oh you're keeping count? Good, I definitely won't be the last." Jimin snapped. He approached both boys and slapped the two of them at the same time on their heads.

"Hey!"

"Ouch!"

They both screamed out as Jimin's small hand carried unimaginable strength and the impact was harder than expected.

"Serves you right! What the hell were you thinking? Seriously?" He kept on questioning with an angry expression marring his face.

"It's Jackson's fault. He's the one who talked me into this." Taehyung mumbled. Jungkook squinted his eyes in his direction.

"I thought it was Yugyeom." Taehyung suddenly flushed, refusing to face the true blood. Jimin followed the interaction with his eyes in curiosity. And then, when it was obvious his best friend wouldn't answer and Jungkook wouldn't push him to, he rolled his eyes and then sat on Taehyung's bed, making sure to land on his foot as he yelped in pain.

"Alpha Jeon gave you two days to recover, nothing more. I suppose with your alpha genes you won't find it much complicated." He informed them. "And since you'll be confined in this room together for the next forty-eight hours, I suggest we play a game."

"We?"

"A game?"

The two injure boys wondered at the same time. Jimin lifted a brow at them and then proceeded to scowl at Jungkook for the dumb question.

"Yes, Jungkook, we." Taehyung snorted. "It's not like we have a war to prepare for and then you two go ahead and incapacitate yourselves and now I have to babysit you because I don't won't either of you to kill the other." The words just kept coming out of the beta's mouth endlessly, his tone getting ridiculously angrier by the second, "and of course, they had to put you two in the same room because trying to kill each other in training isn't enough so they had to test your limits and mine!"

Taehyung and Jungkook looked at each other for a split second and then turned to a red faced Jimin who was fighting hard to control himself.

"Anyways. I am going to be monitoring the two of you because I dont trust you to behave maturely."

And then, just like the bipolar that he is, Jimin's face split in the biggest and happiest smile, scaring the two alphas even more.

"So, let's play!"
