"Why did you come?"

It felt oddly comfortable the silence that played out after Jungkook and Yoongi's intense conversation.
But the youngest had to eventually speak up. He needed to know his faith from now on.

"I wanted to find you. Make sure you weren't attacked or pushed into running away. We also wanted to confirm the existence of any northern packs."

Jungkook nodded along to his brother's words. Still wondering how he's ever going to face his parents or any of his pack members ever again.

"Listen Kook, you don't have to come back. I can.. I can tell them I didn't find you-"

"Hyung, no. Do not lie on my behalf I'm begging you. I don't want to cause you any trouble with father."

Jungkook was quick to beg his brother. There's no way he's going to let his brother get into any more trouble than what he already caused him.
Yoongi let out a long sigh, hands clasped together tightly, upper body leaning forward.

"Then what do you suggest?"

Another short lived silence ensured. To be fair, Jungkook had no idea what to do or say. His mind was blank. He was full of remorse and guilt and he had the utter conviction that he should be punished for his behavior. He was raised like this. He needed to pay for his actions. Face the consequences of his acts as a true Alpha would.
He sure hoped not to be found but he promised himself to face whatever punishment if he ever were.

"And before you suggest it, you're not coming back." Yoongi knew his brother so well afterall, and all it took was one look at his eyes to know exactly where his mind was going. He wanted to pay for his actions and call it a day.
But if Yoongi was sure about one thing, is that their father wouldn't execute his son. Not even for something like this.
He may come off as cold hearted and overall a strict person, but Alpha Jeon was just and wise. And he strongly believed in morals and ethics.
He knew he would forgive Jungkook and what was considered by the young alpha as treason would be considered by his father as act of bravery.
He did risk his life to save his pack from what he believes to be an "incapable" leader.

"I am part of this pack now. Kim Namjoon is my Alpha. He showed me hospitality and welcomed me into his pack with open arms even if he is very reticent towards newcomers. I owe him a lot."

Jungkook spoke slowly. He was indeed very thankful for Namjoon's help. He can only imagine if he were still a rogue wolf.. he sure wouldn't have survived.

"I will make sure to tell father about it. A union between Bangtan and Lupus seems like a very interesting affair. As long as I'm concerned, they are the only pack in the entirety of the North, aren't they?"

Jungkook hummed in confirmation. "Yeah, the rest are rogues. I did have the malchance of meeting some of them on my way here."
Yoongi's eyes widened.

"You did?" Jungkook nodded.

"Very vicious, nearly had me if I hadn't jumped inside a freezing river." He chuckled, "the bastards. It was 5 in the morning and I've never felt that cold in my whole life."
Yoongi shook his head.

"Can't believe you've made it out alive all the way from the south. You could've gotten yourself killed easily. You know that without a pack your scent could easily be tracked and you could've been a very easy target to our neighboring packs who we're not exactly friendly with."

"I know. That's why it took me months to track their monitoring schedules before making my move to leave."

Yoongi could only stare in complete awe at his brother's small and shy smirk.
Both of them turned to the sound of the door opening and in came Namjoon and Solar.
They greeted each other with a small head bow.
