It was about 2am when Loki woke up.
He hadn't gotten much sleep, considering he actually fell asleep around 11am.
He slowly opened his eyes, and looked around the dark room.
Nobody was awake but him.
Or he assumed, at least.
But there were no noises in the tower, so it was obvious he was the only person awake.
The only noise he could hear is from the cars on the street. Apparently, in New York, there were cars on the street at almost every time.
That must've been what woken him, he thought.

Immediately, he looked to face Sarah.
Unfortunately, she still lay unconscious.
He didn't like seeing her this way, he thought. Of course, she was still alive, but she wasn't awake.
It was like watching her sleep.
Except she didn't wake up when there was a loud noise.
She didn't quickly sit up and look around to see if everything was alright.
She didn't even move.
Loki sighs, and leans his head back in the couch.
He was still confused as to why he wasn't in some sort of cell.
Why would watching her even be a suggestion?
I mean, he wasn't complaining about it, but he thought they'd lock him somewhere instead.
But then again, this was much better than sitting in a locked room, but he didn't like the handcuffs.
He couldn't even reach out to hold her hand while she lay there.
He didn't know why he wanted to hold her hand, when she was unconscious, but he did.
He didn't like wanting to.
But everything inside of him wanted but to hold her hand and try to give her some sort of comfort, even if she didn't know.
He shook the thought out of his head, and closed his eyes again.
He needed rest, even if he didn't want to rest. His eyes hurt from not sleeping enough.
So, he was about to fall asleep.
That is until he became aware of something.
And it sounded a bit silly.
But she didn't have a blanket.
Even though she was unconscious on a bed, she didn't have a blanket.
I don't need it, anyways. Loki thought.
He was technically a frost giant.
He didn't get very cold.
Loki slowly stood up, trying not to make a sound.
He picked up the blanket, as best as he could since he had handcuffs, and neared Sarah.
He hovered over her bed, a small smile spreading across his face.
He throws the blanket over her, as best as he could, so she'd be warm instead of cold.
..
In the hallway, Bucky was walking down to where Sarah was kept.
He decided the check in on her, and also make sure Loki hadn't done anything.
He wanted to trust Loki, but he didn't trust him yet.
Bucky soon neared the room she was in.
The door was kept half way open at all times.
He peeked in through the door, checking to make sure both of them were asleep.
But Loki wasn't asleep.
He was about to step in, telling him to sit his ass back down on the couch.
But, even though it was dark, he could see Loki standing over her bed.
He watched as Loki put the blanket over Sarah.
Bucky was confused, a bit.
Perhaps he was telling the truth.
He didn't hurt her at all.
It seemed the opposite actually, he cared about her.
Bucky leaned against the doorway, continuing to watch what he did.
Slowly, Loki reached for her hand.
With the handcuffs, it wasn't easy.
He was about to hold her hand, but remembered Bucky's warning.
He wouldn't want him to lay a finger on her.
And even though he wanted to, he still had to respect his demands.
After all, all he wanted was to protect her as well.
So, he couldn't blame him for not wanting him to touch her.
It seemed as though everything he touched, he destroyed.
In a figure of speech.
He messed everything up, so what made this situation different?
He slowly walked back over to the sofa, and lay down.
He gave one last look at her before closing his eyes.
He would sleep now.
And he did. He soon fell asleep.

So now, the only person who was awake was Bucky.
He stared in a bit of awe when Loki didn't lay a finger on her.
Of course, he told him not to, but he didn't expect him to respect his demand.
Maybe he could trust Loki.
For Sarah's sake.
If Loki was who he claimed to be, then he could trust him.
But the only way to know for sure, was for Sarah to wake up.
Nobody but Loki and Sarah knew if Loki was trustworthy.
And according to the rest of the Avengers, Loki is untrustworthy and a liar.
But, who knows?
Bucky sighed, and head back to his room.
He didn't need to stay in the hallway, peeking inside the room, any longer.
She'd be okay with him.
He hoped.

Just as Bucky was about to enter his room, he hears someone wake up.
He turns around to see Thor standing behind him.
He jumps a bit, startled.
"What the hell?" He whispers.
"Well, I heard someone awake." Thor whispers back.
"And so what?"
"I needed to make sure it wasn't Loki."
"Well, I'm awake, but so was he."
"What did he do?"
"Nothing. He went back to sleep."
Thor looks down the hallway, and back at Bucky.
"Yes, but someone was walking."
"How do you think I got over to the doorway?" Bucky jokes, still keeping quiet.
"You didn't go inside?" Thor questions.
"I didn't need to." Bucky shrugs.
It was hard to see in the dark, but Thor looked confused as hell.
Why wouldn't he go inside, he thought?
"Why?"
Bucky motioned for Thor to follow him, leading him down the hallway.
Soon, they both stood at the doorway.
"Look inside, if you're so unsure." Bucky whispers.
Thor, confused, peeks his head through the doorway.
Loki was asleep by now, they thought.
"What is this supposed to prove?" Thor asks.
It still didn't explain why he was up and moving.
"Look over to Sarah." Bucky whispers.
"What about her?" He questions, turning to look at her.
"She has a blanket." Bucky answers.
"Okay?"
"Who do you think put it there, if I didn't go inside?"
Thor takes a moment to think about it, even though it was obvious.
He realized, soon, that the blanket she had over her was the same one he gave to Loki before he left the room.
Thor turned to face Bucky, and pointed to Loki, to make sure he was right.
Bucky nodded.
Thor stands up straight, and clears his throat, "So, we can trust him on this one?" He questions.
He wanted to believe and trust his brother.
And perhaps he could this time.
"I think so," Bucky whispers, yawing, "But enough talk, I'm tired."
Thor nods, and looks back at Loki in the room before heading back to his own.
Bucky went back to his own room, too.
They were both exhausted.

Back in Sarah's room, obviously Loki was still awake.
He didn't fall asleep that fast.
He heard the whispers and the creaks in the floor.
Of course he'd eavesdrop.
I mean, all he had to do was look asleep.
And he was quite glad he did listen.
His brother might trust him again, and that made him smile.
