"Here you go, Adams. Your very own room," Natasha says, "Let me know if you need anything."
As soon as she closes the door, I lock it and start toward the window. I didn't want to be here. I felt confined.
"Ah, ah. Not so fast. We've installed security cameras in here." Bucky says through a speaker of some sort.
"That's disgusting. What are you going to do, watch me change?" I retort back.
I can hear him laugh through the speaker which makes me smile. I haven't laughed or smiled in so long.
"No, we just want to make sure you don't try to escape. Anyways, the windows are electrical." He replies.
"Damn you, Stark." I mutter.
"Now, get some sleep. It's getting late. I'll be watching the camera all night. So don't try anything."
I roll my eyes. I don't want to sleep. I can't sleep. Whenever I did I had nightmares.
...
"Which one of you did it? Which one of you tried to escape?" I hear.
"I did." I lie, standing in front of Bucky.
He looks over to me.
"Come here!" He yells, grabbing my arm.
"SARAH, NO!" I hear.

"You'll get what you deserve, you monster."
I close my eyes as the pain starts.
I scream.
They tested, and tested over and over again.
Shoving needles into my arms, legs, and neck.
They shove me into a confined room. Not my cell. Not with Bucky.
I feel as though I'm on fire. My insides hurt and I couldn't do anything. My hand were cuffed and I couldn't see.
My head pounded.
I finally see. I see through the small glass in the room.
I scream.
They took Bucky.
I cry.
*bang*
A gun fired.
*bang*
Another gun fired. This time at me.

I gasp, waking up in a sweat.
I start to shake. I cry as my breathing becomes heavy. I curl myself into a ball, rocking myself back and forth.
I couldn't breathe.
I needed air.
I needed to forget.
I shake, heading toward the door.
I didn't know where the kitchen was in this tower. I just needed water.
I needed something to help.
The door was locked. Shit.
I look around for anything in my room that can pick the lock.
I spot a paper clip lying around on the desk and fold it into a bent line.
*click*
The door unlocks.
I creep around, looking for what can be a kitchen.
I was still shaking and crying. My breath was still heavy.
Someone would hear me.
I finally find a kitchen and open the fridge.
I slowly grab a bottle of water and collapse into a chair, trying to calm down.
*creak*
A door opens.
I quickly turn my head, not knowing what to expect.
Bucky.
"You alright?" He whispers.
I nod.
"Nightmare?" He assumes.
"Yeah.." I mutter.
He comes over and sits down next to me.
"I still get them too, often," He whispers, "It will all be okay. Just... breathe."
"That's what I'm trying to do, Buck. I'm not going to stop breathing to calm myself down." I say, sarcastically.
He stays silent for a few seconds before speaking again.
"How are you alive?" He asks me.
"I can ask the same for you." I reply. I thought he had died.
"I just don't understand. I saw with my own eyes, everybody that was frozen.... was dead."
I look back up at him.
"That's the thing, Buck. I wasn't frozen for a while now. Just wiped. Over and over. They sent me looking for you, you know. I'm sorry, if I hurt you. I wish I never hurt anybody."
He nods.
"It wasn't you. You weren't in control."
"But I did it..."
He sits, silently, not knowing what else to say.
"I missed you." He whispers.
I try to smile.
"I missed you too. You were all I had, you know."
"Yeah..." He whispers back.
It goes silent again.
"Im guessing you don't want to go back to bed?" He finally says.
"It's not that I don't want sleep, it's just- I can't. I can't sleep anymore. When I do, I have nightmares."
"Well, it's only 2am in the morning. You have a lot of time left till everybody else wakes up."
"I know. But I cant go to sleep. I can't"
"Want me to stay awake with you?" He offers.
"No, no. I'm not doing that to you. You could sleep, you need sleep."
"So do you." He replies.
I look up at him.
"I can't." I whisper.
"Well, I can't let you be sleep deprived either."
"It's much better..." I whisper.
"Are you sure you don't want me staying awake with you? Because I will..."
"Thank you, Buck. But I'll be fine."
"Oh. Well, I'll see you in the morning, I suppose."
"Goodnight, Bucky."
"Goodnight, Sarah."
