It was like I was trapped in a dream.
I knew I wasn't awake, but I also knew I wasn't just sleeping.
Everything felt off.
The dreams would slowly change into different dreams.
Repeatedly.
And I couldn't even tell what each was anymore.
It was a bunch of combinations of dreams.
But I knew I was "dreaming".
But I couldn't do anything.
....

Loki woke up, a few hours after waking up at 2am.
It was around 6:40 now, according to the clock.
He opened his eyes, and looked around the room.
He had almost forgotten where he was, considering the last time he was here he was in a closet most of the time.
He turned his head to face Sarah.
His heart sank a bit when he remembered she wouldn't wake up if he tried to wake her.
Every time he looked at her, his heart sank.
She was so stiff and still.

He didn't know whether to get up or not.
It's not like he was very welcomed here.
So, he decided to stay put until somebody else came inside.
...
As he waited for somebody else to wake, he fell asleep in the process.
But soon woke up when he heard someone knock on the door.
He opened his eyes, quickly, and looked over to the doorway.
Bruce was awake.
"Did I wake you?" He asks, a bit afraid of Loki.
"Yes." He answers, coldly.
"Sorry.." Bruce mutters.
He walks over to where Sarah lay, and tapped her to see if she'd wake up.
She shouldn't be unconscious for this long.
He tried, gently, shaking her awake.
But that didn't wake her either.
"What's the matter?" Loki asks, as he sees Bruce's concern.
Bruce looks up to Loki, seeing him concerned too.
"She should have woken up by now- I don't understand.." he answers.
"Well, why hasn't she?"
"I just told you, I don't understand." He answers, calmly.
He knew better than to tick off Loki.
He was a bit afraid of him, to be honest.
Even he didn't understand why Bucky suggested to let him watch her.
But, it didn't look like he did any harm to her.

"I'll go find Tony." Bruce mutters, as he walks out of the room.
As soon as he leaves, Loki stands up.
He walks over to Sarah, hovering over her bed.
He stared intently at her, checking to see if she was still breathing.
He watched as her chest rose and fell, indicating she was still breathing.
He let out a small sigh of relief, to the fact she was still breathing.
But how long was someone supposed to be unconscious? Surely, if Bruce was concerned, it was bad.
He's a scientist or doctor right, Loki thought?
Whatever he was, he clearly knew what he was doing.
Maybe.
Soon, Tony and Bruce walked into the room.
"Don't touch her." Tony demands, walking over to Sarah.
He was about to tell him that he didn't touch her at all, but he decided it was best not to.
He sat back down on the sofa, and watched as Tony ran a couple of scans from that weird J.A.R.V.I.S thing.
Technology was quite odd on Midgard, Loki thought.

"There's nothing wrong with her." Tony says, confused, as he stares at scan results on this odd tablet-looking thing.
"Then why won't she wake up?" Bruce questions.
"You think if I knew, I would have told you?" Tony says, still looking at the results.
Bruce looks down, not saying anything else.
He had to wake Tony to do this, so he was already annoyed at him.
He wasn't a morning person at all.
"J.A.R.V.I.S, do the scans again." Tony demands.
"Of course, sir." J.A.R.V.I.S responds.
As soon as the scans are done, he looks down at the results again.
When they come out the same, he puts the tablet on the small table next to the bed.
He puts his hands to his face, rubbing his eyes, and then throws his hands to his sides.
"I don't know..," Tony says, "...yet."
He didn't want to admit that he had no idea what was wrong with her, so he had to add in the 'yet'.
"Maybe if I just.." Tony begins, and then starts shaking Sarah.
"Wake up, wake up, wake up." He says, as he tries to shake her awake.
"Tony. Tony, stop! That's not going to wake her." Bruce says.
"You'll never know unless you try." He says, as he continues to try and shake her awake.
"If you keep doing that, she actually will have something wrong with her!"
Tony sighs, and stops shaking her.
"Now, was that really necessary?" Loki asks.
Tony turns to face Loki, "It was worth a damn shot."
Was it really, though?
Loki had already tried shaking her awake the same day that she went unconscious.
"How long could she be like this?" Tony asks Bruce.
"Who knows? She should have woken by now. She didn't even respond to anything."
Tony takes one last check at the results.
"I need a drink." Tony says, putting down the tablet.
"It's 7am?!" Bruce says, a bit concerned.
"I'm aware." Tony says, leaving the room.
Bruce sighs, and looks over to Loki who was staring intently at Sarah.
"Hey, are you alright?" He asks Loki, a bit nervously.
Without taking his eyes of Sarah he answers, "I'm fine."
"Are you sure?"
"Why wouldn't I be?"
Bruce stays silent, not knowing how to respond.
"It's okay to not be fine, you know? Nobody is going to judge you if you cry..." he says, cautiously.
"Well, now, what is crying going to do about it?" Loki asks, a bit less harshly, "It isn't going to wake her up."
"No, but it doesn't hurt to.."
Loki nods, still looking at Sarah.
As much as he wanted to cry even the slightest bit, he also didn't want to.
He felt it made him seem weak.
And why would he be weak?
He wasn't going to cry about this.. she's still alive.
And that's okay for now.
"I'll let you be.." Bruce says, leaving the room.
To Loki's surprise, he closes the door all the way behind him.
But wasn't the door supposed to be half way open at all times?
As much as he didn't want to go against Bucky's demand, he took advantage of this moment.
The door wouldn't stay closed when somebody else walks in later.
Loki, quickly, sits up from his seat.
He stands up, and slowly takes a few steps over to Sarah.
Now, once again, be hovered over where she lay.
Hesitantly, he grabbed her hand and held it.
He still didn't understand why he wanted to hold her hand.
I guess he just wanted her to feel safe.
"Wake up." He whispers, forcing a small smile.
He stares down at her, hoping for her to open her eyes.
Hoping for her just to wake up.
It'd only been 2 days, and yet he didn't like that she wasn't awake.
It was weird to him.
"Please." He whispers.
Before he even realized, his eyes began to water.
Great, he thought.
He said he wouldn't cry but now he was.
So what's the point in trying to keep them back, right?
He closed his eyes, letting the tears run down his cheeks.
He kept his eyes closed for a bit longer, not wanting to open them again.
Not wanting to open them to see her looking lifeless.
He didn't like this feeling.
The feeling of being sad for somebody else.
The feeling of what seemed to be caring about someone else deeper than he cared about himself.
He was just about to let go of her hand, eyes still shut, but before he can, something strange happens.
She squeezed his hand.
His eyebrows narrow, and he opens his eyes.
He looks down at her, but she's still not awake.
"Can you hear me?" He whispers.
A few seconds go by, with absolutely no response.
But just as he thought nothing would happen, she squeezed his hand again.
He gasped a bit, shocked.
She could hear him.
"Oh my God." He mutters.
But why wouldn't she wake?
...
I was dreaming, still.
I didn't like dreaming right now.
I didn't want to dream right now.
I just wanted to wake up.
But no matter what I did, I couldn't wake up.
Surely, people have tried to wake me up.
But I just.. didn't.

Soon, though, something was different.
I could hear.
I could hear talking.
Not from my dream, but from what's as actually happening.
But I couldn't do anything at all.
The first thing I heard was, "I'll let you be."
I could tell it was Bruce who said it.
I didn't know who he was talking to, though.
Perhaps Bucky.
Probably Bucky.
Nobody else would most likely visit me.
Maybe Peter, but he was acting off before I left the tower in the first place.
It couldn't be Loki.
Surely he'd be locked away.
He didn't do anything wrong, but they didn't know that.
And I know they all hate him because of what happened at the attack on New York.
It makes sense for him to be locked up, anyways, since he was supposed to be locked somewhere on ass guard while he was actually in the closet.

I was just about to go back and focus on my stupid dream with Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, but I heard something else.
I had to focus a bit to hear it.
"Wake up." I hear.
Loki?
And suddenly, somehow, I could feel.
I could feel a hand in mine.
But why wouldn't I just wake up?
"Please." I hear him say.
He sounded sad.
Which made sense, considering nobody else here liked him but me.

Then I wondered.
I wondered if I could move my hand.
Even if it was the slightest movement, it'd be a sign. So nobody would lose hope.
I tried moving my hand.
I tried so hard.
But it wouldn't budge.
I focused on the feeling of his hand in mine.
I focused on trying to move my own hand.
And just when I was about to give up.. it moved.
I moved my hand.
I squeezed his hand.
I waited for some sort of response, hoping he'd felt it. But, I didn't hear anything yet.
Maybe he didn't feel it.
Maybe I imagined my hand moving.
But then, "Can you hear me?"
I do.
I do hear him.
I tried squeezing his hand again, but it wouldn't budge again.
I tried so hard, focusing once again.
And I did.
I squeezed his hand again.
I could hear a slight gasp and an, "Oh my God." Coming from Loki.
And it made me happy to know that I could somehow 'communicate' with him.

...
Loki was shocked, that she could hear him.
"We're going to help you. Please, just hold on.. I won't let go of you."
