Two days go by, and Sam's already tried to prank Loki. He failed, obviously. All of his pranks are old fashioned, and nobody would fall for them. He put a bucket of water above the doorway, hoping it'd fall on him when he walked in. I don't even know where he found the bucket, but it ended up falling on me instead. The least he could've done was inform me about wanting the bucket of water to fall on Loki, but he's not smart enough to do that. He never has been. It's happened before, actually. He was trying to get back at our mother for something, and I ended up getting pranked instead. Apparently, he still hasn't learned his lesson.
I currently lay on the bed, deep in my thoughts. Then, suddenly, the door bursts open, and in comes Sam. Covered in blue paint.
"What happened to you?" I ask, sitting up.
"What do you think happened?!" Sam asks, pointing at himself where the paint was covering him, "That God, or whatever he is, is too good at this!"
"Well, what did you expect to happen?" I chuckle.
"I dunno! I thought it would've been easier to prank him back."
"Trust me, if you want to prank him, you have to do better than trying to get a bucket of water dumped on his head."
"I tried!"
"What did you do?"
"I was trying it with paint!"
"The paint that is on you?"
"Yes, obviously. Whatever he did, he switched the door that the bucket sat above."
I can't help but laugh. Like Loki said, he wasn't going to trick him. Ever. He's the God of Mischief, the trickster.
"Stop laughing, and help me prank him!" Sam begs.
"This is between you two, I wouldn't want to get involved." I tell him.
"Please, Sarah. I'm just going to keep getting pranked."
"And that's entirely your fault. Now go, you're dripping paint all over the floor!"
He sighs, rolls his eyes, and opens the door. As soon as he does, though, a bucket of feathers fall from the door. Because of the wet paint, it stuck to him.
"Oh, come on! Where did he even get feathers from?!" He shouts, storming off.
...Sam ended up trying to prank Loki, again, even though he continues to fail. That's his main goal for now, to prank Loki.
After all of the ruckus that was caused, Banner informed me that Tony needed me for something. I didn't tell him that I already knew what he needed me for, because Bucky wasn't actually supposed to know. I still don't know who told him, but it doesn't matter anymore.
"What do you want?" I ask Stark, walking into one of his science or technology rooms.
"I made something. Something useful." Tony explains.
"Okay? What is it?" I ask, acting as though I haven't gotten a clue.
He picked up what seemed to be an earpiece from the table. It was small, too.
"What does it do?" I ask, getting closer to take a good look at it.
"It prevents your devil of a father from communicating through, and getting into, other people's minds. Your welcome."
"How?"
"Banner did some science shit. Something does something, and another thing does another thing. Something cancels something out, and blah blah blah."
Well, that didn't exactly help.
"You could read people's minds, right Adams?"
I nod.
"Great, I'm testing it out," He says, attaching the ear piece to me, "Try reading what I'm thinking."
I focus on him, trying to get in his head. It's usually easy for me to get into someone's mind, and read what they're thinking. But, like it's supposed to do, it's not working. I can't read his mind.
"It works." I tell him.
"Of course it does, I designed it," He says, taking the earpiece back, "Now all we need to do is put it on him."
"You'll do that right away?" I ask.
"Mhm." He answers.
"Well, great. That's great." I say. Now I could actually talk to him without him getting control over me.
"Oh, and, you could be better now. You could stop faking that you aren't." He smiles, sarcastically.
"How did you know?"
"Security cameras. Kinda figured. I can see who talks to who. Plus, we've updated our security ever since you tried to kill Loki. I could hear what people say."
"That's creepy."
"It's fun, actually. That brother of yours getting pranked continuously is quite amusing."
"You've got that all on camera?"
"All of it."
"I'm gonna have to see that."
"Not now, though, no. I need to get this thing on your terrifying father."
"Can I see that?"
"Don't know why you'd want to, but sure. He can't hurt you."
...
Tony opens the door, but doesn't hold it open when I walk behind him. What a gentleman. I push it open myself, which doesn't bother me, and look inside to see Erik in a different cage from last time. Well, not too different, actually. It looked like the cage Loki had been in when I first met him, but some things were changed. There were extra security precautions. More security cameras, technology, and just more of everything.
